So after cutting throughout the bulk (huehue) of this year and finally getting to a place where I'm pretty alright with my appearance, I'm about to start a nice clean bulk.

I've been doing a PPL split throughout my cut (though its consistency suffered over the summer) but I know SS is the standard for beginners who want to start gaining muscle.

I personally love the daily workout routine I get with PPL and am mostly concerned with the frequency of SS not feeling like enough. I do intend to do some amount of cardio everyday (brazilian jiu jitsu/moderate jogging) which might make up for any feeling of not working out on a given day, but I'm not sure.

What are your opinions on this for a b

Greetings! This is the week one update for the 6-Pack race thread made last week. So everyone who joined in last week and everyone who wants to join today post a progress report and let's keep this going. Here's the link to the original thread:

Here is my own progress: I lost 4 pounds between last Wednesday and today. I didn't intend to but it was a crazy week and I must have lost some muscle along the way (a moment of silence please).

Here's my plan for a challenge: Instead of aiming for 10 lbs. lost or muscle gained faster, I want to challenge somebody to who reaches a resting 6-Pack first.

It's slightly less scientific and sort of a gamble as its based on where we are both starting from. BUT that little bit of gamble is the fun part. Plus it's a good way to ensure neither of us will sacrifice muscle to beat the other to a lower weight, as it would only hurt the end goal.

Any takers?

Hey Fittit.

I've just decided to start bulking because over the summer when I'm home (from school) my diet is too inconsistent to properly cut anymore. My adjusted TDEE is about 2400 while doing Starting Strength (5' 9"/M/158 lbs.), which means I should probably eat about 2700 a day.

My question is how can I possibly get this many calories cleanly? By the time I've finished eating my normal meals I'm only around 1400 when i hit 120g protein. Even if I wanted to go full dirty bulk I'm pretty sure I'll croak if I get 1300 calories from ice cream and cookies every night.

Hey r/homegym! Long time lurker, first time poster. I was wondering what you guys think about this deal I've got on the table from CL. He's offering:

  • 500 lbs. Olympic Weights w/ bar
  • 300 lbs. Standard Weights
  • 5 standard bars (some straight, some EZ)
  • Bench Press
  • Decline Bench
  • Weight Tree
  • Marcy 3100 smith machine/lat pulldown

He told me $700 and it's all mine and says the smith machine does still work. Some of the weights and bars have spots of rust on them but I'm thinking even if the lat pulldown is a Marcy it'd be worth it to get a full gym in one buy and maybe a power cage later. Any thoughts about this deal?
