Title says it all: how do I ask my editor not to use generative AI tools to edit my stories?

For background I’m definitely new to the field with a little over a year under my belt with my current paper. But will add that I’ve also got a masters in political science, was the head of my college paper, interned for a national news outlet in college, etc., so not a complete baby.

But, I’ve long suspected my editor has been using ai tools to edit my stories. Admittedly this is an assumption at the point. I haven’t asked directly yet—though tips on that are appreciated of course but I think I’ll just grow some cajones and ask directly but still politely— because asking will most certainly be rec

Hey all,

Got a 1099-MISC for a job i had last year for just 2 months. It was for an LLC based in California* that hired people all over the world (India, UK, Italy, Spain, US, New Zealand, etc.).

I ended up quitting because I was sussed out by the contractor pay for a full time job and now I’m extra troubled by receiving a 1099-MISC for my income from that job as opposed to a 1099-NEC? But I’m just basing these assumptions off of very cursory research into the difference.

I did mark myself as sole proprietor on my 1099-K when i was hired because it was my first job and I honestly didn’t know the difference in options and my boss couldn’t advise me.

Also on the 1099-MISC, my pay is liste

Hey all,

I’ve posted about this in here before, but now am at a new stage.

I had a crown put on tooth #18 in June 2022. It was one of those 3d printed, perfect match teeth that was done in one sitting. It broke in February 2024. I was living in europe and smoking cigs from august ‘22 to december ‘23 so I blame myself for that one breaking. When it broke, i quit smoking, and had to get it replaced in my hometown.

Since early 2024, my hometown dentist has replaced that crown FOUR TIMES. Not a single crown done by them has lasted longer than six months. I’ve gotten several infections and have been prescribed WAY too many antibiotics and steroids in just two years.

Every single time: the

Hey all,

I’ve been reeling for quite a bit on this, and I feel like it’s holding me back in life but i’m not sure how to break the pattern while keeping a good relationship with my parent.

After earning my masters abroad, I (F25) came home for the holidays, fully intent upon returning abroad after. Those plans fell thru quickly, as I couldn’t find a job abroad and my dad fell deeply ill to cancer that had come back. What ended up being his final months in life were spent with mom being his full-time caretaker. I was unemployed and picking up the pieces of my life, while also trying to keep the house clean, make sure chores were done, fridge was stocked, etc. while my parents were in and o

Hi there! I’m new to this reddit community and relatively new to the law of assumption, but not so new to manifesting. I successfully manifested attending graduate school abroad after years of being told that it was impossible for me, I’ve manifested money and other jobs and opportunities and have found lots of success with journaling and working hard on my goals and changing my narrative.

I don’t want to get into how i got to where I am now because i am trying to detach from my old story of being a victim but lets just say that my life came to a screeching halt after grad school, the job search was a nightmare, i had years of unprocessed trauma to deal with and my dad just died. My dad w

Hi all, I hope this is the right place to post this.

My dad (61) died a few weeks ago and, thankfully, had prepared a folder with his will and other documents but, less thankfully, did so haphazardly and left quite a few information gaps—most namely being life insurance policies. Weeks before he died, he told me, and only me, about this file, as he was highly secretive about things due to being a fairly private person working in military IT/cybersecurity. i am completely positive he mentioned having life insurance during that discussion, but did not explain where/any policy info. My mother & I have already submitted an LI policy lookup request, but we are quite apprehensive in this moment

hey guys, not sure if this is the right place to put this but i’m really hitting a wall here and don’t know what to do.

without revealing any telling details, i am american and was in the netherlands for a masters. the program was partnered between a dutch university and an IO-affiliated institute. i got an internship in the institute, which paralleled my study program, and was promised a certain amount of pay per month, which was almost 2x higher than the €120 that they are allowed to pay non-eu interns. i never earned this money, i only earned a fraction of it—even less than the €120 non-eu payment ceiling—for the entire contract.

only after completing the contract was i informed that
