aufgrund der angezogenen Preise bei RAM, SSDs und vermutlich bald auch GPUs, will ich diese Gelegenheit nutzen und endlich mal upgraden.

Mein letzter Build ist ewig her, daher wäre ich für Meinungen, Tipps, Beratung und Ratschläge sehr dankbar.

i´m a german student and i´m currently working on my thesis. The thesis is about bullet journals and journaling in general. We know that journaling can have a positive effect of ones organization. Especially people with ADHD can profit from this technique. Therefore, we want to know if it is possible to map the processes behind journaling into digital ones.To do so, we want to identify the most beneficial components, we want to discuss the most confusing processes and we want to pack all of this into a User-Interface which help the users the most.

i have a WindowsToGo installation on a portable SSD. Is there any way that i can boot the VM of it?

I was able to build the VM without any storage connected to it. I had to quickly connect with remote viewer into the VM and pass through the USB hard drive and I had to reboot the VM.

Windows was able to boot up to the bootlogo but stopped there.

Any idea on how i get this natively working or is there a better way to tackle this?

so i´ve Pop OS running on my work machine and everything is fine.

Therefore, i installed it on a used Lenovo Yoga S1, since it does support the stylus and it´s pressure mechanic.

However, whenever i restart or lock the device, Pop OS resets the scaler for the UI to 200%.

Is there any way to pin the scaling to 100%?

so... i got this Surface Pro 3, which has a slightly broken display where the touch does not work, for roughly 30€.
At first, i was thinking about replacing the broken display with a new one, install a new msata SSD and replace the thermal paste with thermal grizzly carbonaut, so i never have to worry about thermals or thermal paste inside the surface ever again.

The SSD(256-512GB) and the Carbonaut cost me about 60€, but the display cost roughly 160€(!). This adds up to round about 220€ in total, depending on where i buy what.

so i got this weird behaviour where the game would crash me back to the desktop whenever i try to load a raid other than Factory.
I was able to load Customs and Woods in offline mode but everytime i want to raid online it crashes. Often times during the "loading loot" and often between 50 and 80%.

I tried to run the launcher as admin which didn´t helped. Also i tried to remove the game, where i get this strange message that i don´t have access to the "UnityPlayer.dll" file. So i removed everything else in the installation directory and reinstalled everything through the client. Still no fix.

i´m working on an assignment which i can´t get done. i´m hoping that maybe someone can help me out.

The task is to build a method which generates a String based on two other Strings "a" and "b".

In the newly generated String, every occures of the Chars from "a" which are not in "b" should be replaced by a "_".

Spaces shouldn´t be replaced. The comparison is non casesensitive and the return value needs to be in uppercase.

The twist is that the task needs to be solved recursevely so no loops are allowed. Furthermore, the following methods are not allowed: split(), mathes(), replaceAll() and replaceFirst(). Regexe´s are not allowed too.

Hi, i´m going to get a Dell G5 for work and i´m going to use it as my daily driver. As far as i know it can be a good virtualization host with kvm becacuse of the CPU and it can game, after some tweaks. However there are some questions regarding the 144hz version and nvidia optimus.

On Dell´s listings, there is a mention that every 144hz model comes with Gsync. However, the place i ordered the G5 does not mention Gsync at all. Is there a model with 144hz that ships without gsync?

What about nvidia optimus? Does the G5 supports optimus or is the nvidia GPU always on an therefore in use. This point is actualy quite interesting for virtualization and GPU passthrough but i was not able to find

so i got this 13 R3 cheaply and i would like to use it as my daily driver.
However, since i use more Linux based Systems like Ubuntu, i would like to know if there is a way to control/configure it (RGB, Alienware AMP, Thunderbolt etc.) through Linux and maybe how well KVM works on Alienware devices.

Maybe someone has some experience regarding this topic.
