Just wanted to check on something that has me a bit worried. I shooed a young galah off a road yesterday (it was trying hard to get run over) and it was obviously pre-flight. Feathered but no long tail feathers yet, flapping didn't lift it at all so clearly not strong yet.

Is this right for galahs? I know many Australian birds have a "ground" period between nest and flight, but a few things I've read suggest that galahs usually fly straight from the nest hollow, without that intermediate phase. Just concerned the little guy might be out before he's ready.

Mum and dad were watching over it so I'm sure it's getting fed. I shooed it into an empty construction block with some good bushes so it

Just want to check we played this one right as I couldn't find the relevant clarification with my rulebook- and google-fu. I'm probably looking straight past a simple rule but have drawn a complete blank, help appreciated.

Situation: Due to a fear effect that skipped a build phase and didn't advance the card, we had two level 3 cards in the build slot: W+M and W+J. Do I...

A) resolve each explore card in turn, so build in W, then M, then W again, then J; or

B) resolve each terrain type shown on build cards, so build in W, then M, then J (skipping the 2nd W because it was already built in)?

We did option A, I'm hoping we haven't made it more difficult than it needed to be. Double build

My wife and I have taken down most adversaries up to at least 5 by now (Russia 6 still not done) but have hit the wall on Habsburg 5. For the first time we are not even feeling in the hunt, it's just pummeling us like Tyson vs a preschooler. They start too fast and we never catch up. A couple of times we've gone deep into the explore deck but not been close to a win condition.

We've mostly been trying Vengeance, Rampant Green, Thunderspeaker, Lure, Keeper. Cameos from Shifting Memories and Downpour.

Any suggestions? We've tried allowing an early blighted island early to dodge the escalation, preventing the blighted island, spamming isolation, using wilds to prevent the "drag in towns" mech

Events always seem to fall into one of 3 categories: 1) things that randomly screw your whole game; 2) things that do what you were doing that turn anyway, invalidating some of your actions; 3) things that impact nothing and the event may as well not have happened.

I like the idea of a bit of unexpected randomness to adapt to, but for me events don't provide that. You can't see anything coming and they're often far too brutal or helpful.

I saw a strange exercise going on at HMAS Albatross, and curious if anyone knows what they were doing.

A helicopter painted in camo colours comes down in the middle of the runway. Not a Sea Hawk, but I couldn't tell you what type it was - not a small one though.

It's then completely obscured by a huge cloud of fog or mist or smoke or something. I thought it must have been on fire initially as I was driving by. It looked almost as if there were fire trucks around it spraying it heavily with water - only it was on its own out in the clear runway.

After say 10-20 seconds, it lifts off and flies away. So obviously not on fire or in distress. What was happening?

We have a few random neighbourhood cats that are coming round and leaving us daily poo and dead animals. I'm a bit over it, I like my birds. Looking for ways to approach it that have worked for others here.

I don't want to be dickish or passive-aggressive with neighbours, and definitely do not want to harm any cats. I'm willing to put in time, money and effort for anything that would work.

I'm not a cat person so have no idea what works for them. If anything?

Well I have always enjoyed playing strategic games because of my dominant intelligence. I am not saying I am always better, I just tend to be more strategic and bring up game balance and logic issue when discussing about rules, so I guess you could say I'm always better. But I just felt like the more strategy I apply to games with my giant brain, the more hardship it adds to my game experience.

Say in hidden Identity RPG, I find it more and more pointless to plan convincing speeches cus the other players are too busy banging rocks together and communicating in a rudimentary proto-language based on hoots. They don't seem to even care who the traitor is.

Same cases with other games, whenever

Another recent post here about Tom Hardy got me thinking this, because he seems to be brilliant in everything I see him in.

Likewise, there are a bunch of actors who seem to never fail for me. Tilda Swinton, Rachel House, Jake Gyllenhaal, JK Simmons, Jimmy Stewart.

Who are your "best of the best" with actors/actresses?

When I'm filling up the birdbath each day I offer a hose shower to any birds hanging around. Here are the results so far (P>0.05).

Bloody love a hose shower: Magpie, Noisy Miner, Red Wattlebird, Satin Bowerbird.

Likes a shower but usually too dumb to go where the water is: Crested Pigeon

No thanks: Cockatoo, Crimson Rosella, Currawong.

OMG YOU MONSTER WHAT ARE YOU DOING: King Parrot, Noisy Friarbird, Eastern Rosella.

I'm hoping someone can give me advice on re-homing pet birds. My elderly father has a Rainbow Lorikeet, a Budgie, and a Cockatiel and he's no longer able to care for them. I want to find them good homes but not sure how.

The Lorikeet is very accustomed to humans - can shake hands, talk, etc. Funny little girl. She was once a non-cage bird but recently has been kept in a cage. The other 2 are cage birds only.

Is there a bird community I could tap into to find a new home? Or do I talk to a pet shop? RSPCA maybe? I have no idea where to start.

Is there any advantage to getting way out in front of them, or should I stay juuuuust in front of the bubble and do as many locations as possible to hoover up that sweet sweet scrap?

Also does my "head start" carry over from sector to sector? If I zoom through one sector can I then dawdle through the next while they are still way behind? If they're right behind me when I jump sector are they going to show up immediately next sector?

Thanks FTLers!

It's just that whenever I start researching a game half the time I realize some manchild is whingeing that he can't get the 2008 Dice Tower promo card or KS Exclusive etched dice and so thinks his whole game is unplayable and has to bitch about it on BGG and reddit. It's so fu*king hostile.

I remember when you walked into a store, bought a game, and if you liked it enough you were happy you had a good game. Now the whole hobby seems to be a giant FOMO-fueled regretland.

Don't get me wrong I don't understand why they're not able to have the time of their life with so many new board games from the past 10 years. I just had no idea that boardgamers could be such entitled twats. Can't we do an
