Hello, my dad passed last week (merry Christmas), and I'm helping my mom get everything ironed out. Wisdom from this sub has helped a lot, but I'm a little lost on retirement accounts. Dad was unemployed since the start of COVID. I know he wasn't really the best when it came to retirement savings, but I would be amazed if he never made a 401(k) contribution in his 30 years of working. I'm sure this question gets asked a lot, but my biggest complaint is that Palpatine returning just seems so, like, pulled out of nowhere. My friends who are into the EU say it makes total sense in the broader context of the lore. They recommended I watch Clone Wars and read the Aftermath trilogy (working my way through the first one now).

Does anyone have a reading list to have a good lore primer so I can rewatch IX?

I bought an 02 Pontiac Grand Am off of Craigslist last week because my old car shot craps on me. It's not in the best shape, but it runs. I took it in for a state inspection (Missouri) today so I can get it licensed, but it failed, with the mechanic citing that the tie rod ends had lost their tolerance and need to be replaced. That work, plus the alignment afterwards will run about $350. While I could scrape to get that money together, I have a lot more time than money right now. So, sadly, I've managed to misplace my New 3DS XL. I've accepted that it's gone, and I'm not too beat up, as I wanted a 2DS XL anyway, so I'll just replace it. The question I have is about recovering my Nintendo account on the replacement I get. When I upgraded previous models, I just did the system transfer with both systems to get all my info to the new one. Will I be able to just sign in on my replacement if I don't have the old one? I had a bunch of games downloaded on my old system, will I be able to get them back? Should I be worried, privacy-wise, that I lost a system with all my account stuff on it? Thanks for any answers.

Hopefully this is an acceptable place to post this. I live in KC, and the weekend of the 12th-13th, we had some pretty bad weather that knocked out power for almost the whole city. We got power back, but we haven't been able to connect to the internet since then. I can connect to the box (blue light blinking), but no internet. My SO (who I live with), whose name is on the account, has been in contact with Google 3 or 4 times since the outage, and every time they've said they don't know when it will be fixed.
