Basically what the title says. In today's climate where probationary employees are getting let go left and right... if an individual has 10+ years of service in a relatively "safe" position in a safe ish agency (DOD), are they taking a risk by accepting a promotion to supervisor? The supervisor position comes with a new probationary period. Does that probationary status put them at risk if their agency decides to axe probationary employees? Or would they just revert to their non-supervisory role where they are already well past probation?

I get that there probably isn't a cut and dry definite answer to this question with all the crazy shake ups going on in the fed workforce today.

I'm selling my truck and I'm curious what is the best way to allow potential buyers to pay for it. I'm reluctant to accept a personal check for $15,000+ from a stranger with no way of knowing if it will actually clear or if it'll bounce... A certified check or something from the bank would probably be fine but even then how do you trust that it's real? Expecting someone to show up with that much cash also seems unrealistic.

What do most people do in this situation?

Sorry if this post is off topic at all I'm new to the sub. If I'd be better off asking elsewhere please let me know or mods go ahead and remove this if necessary...

All over the web there are obviously sites that can calculate results for given BJ situations. One of my personal favorites is the hand calculator one from wizard of odds because it has most of the possible scenarios you can imagine and it's very simple (I'd share the link but not sure if that's allowed in the sub).

I like the fact that it outputs the $EV percentage for the different player choices, hit stand split double... What I don't like is that it is fairly simple. It requires you to input a dealer face up card and 2 p

The baby has a birth defect. He's just one big baby sized ear. No arms... No legs... No face or belly or bottom. Just a big baby sized ear.

The father is undaunted and hopes for a bright future for his child. He tells the baby "Don't worry baby, you may just be one giant ear... But it won't slow you down in life. You're going to do amazing things and change people's preconceptions about what an ear can do. You can be anything you want to be in life. And I'm going to do everything I can to make sure your future is great and you grow up to do great things."

The Doctor standing nearby overhearing this impassioned speech puts his hand on the father's shoulder to console him and says..."

Can we talk about how under powered the sighted people are in this show so far?

Well maybe not under powered necessarily...but they consistently fail to take advantage of their sight effectively. In S2e1 when Boba Voss tells Kofun he can't come help save Haniwa, I rolled my eyes so hard it hurt my neck.

Seriously? Give anyone with vision and half a brain some weapon...a spear or sword or knife etc, and they could probably march into a city of blind people and murder every single one of them without being touched. No matter how well trained. They're trained to fight other blind people...vision is a 10,000x power up in a fight compared to blind soldier training.

I love the show, bu

I'm as glad as anyone that the silver price is on a long overdue and well deserved up swing. But I feel like the price move posts are just spam. Everyone knows what the spot price is. I like it better when the front page of r/Silverbugs is focused on pics of rare silver or big stacks of silver or mail calls etc.

This sub is about stacking and showing off shiny. Not speculating and selling/buying for fiat profits. Save the price hype posts for r/wallstreetbets and r/bitcoinmarkets and the like.

Sorry for the rant.
