Though maybe less of a genre and more of a vibe, a strange atmosphere and an air of mystery, a slowly unraveling story, the sense of exploring an unknown world, it all fits together in my head, but trying to write down an exact definition eludes me, so I will list a bunch of games that I've played, and maybe you can think of some others that would fit in.

Games that definitely fit: Outer wilds, Oxenfree, Inscryption, Oneshot, The Last Door, Her Story, and Subnautica (though barely, I'd say it's between definitely and somewhat)

Games that somewhat fit: FEZ, Myst, Riven, and Hyper Light Drifter - these are cryptic but never quite gave all the answers I wanted.

Games that kinda fit: Nier Aut

I'm all caught up on the English LN, and have been thinking about reading the WN. I know the faq says the WN version is far more rough and has major differences, my question is: will reading the WN spoil major events from the LN? Or are the versions so different that there's not really any risk of that happening? I wouldn't want to read a (supposedly) sub-par version of cool events that could be so much cooler if I just wait for them to be in the LN.
