Hi folks. My son has bought me an Orbit 20. It's the first screen reader I've ever had to connect by Bluetooth, and apparently I have to download an app. Could people give me some advice? Please no sarcy comments about reading the manual, the Orbit is second hand and didn't come with one. Plus, remember not everyone is tech savvy. Thank you for any help, and please don't be cross with me. I had to delete my previous post.

My son has got me an Orbit 20, do people have tips?
I'm getting a laptop with a refreshible braille display this year (I will be using it for study and work.) It's a 360 cell refreshable display which mirrors the screen so sighted and blind see the exact same thing.
I've loved my Canute 360, I will review the upgrade. Just sharing because I am very excited, and there's not many people I can share my good news with. I'll review as soon as I can.
Hey folks. I've joined a running club and they're getting me back on my feet again (first run was terrifying, second was easier) and wondered is there such a thing as an accessible smart watch to track my health stats, distances, etc? It's a long shot, I know.
How do I stop somebody from inviting herself to my town for annual holidays? I don't want to upset her, she doesn't have many friends, but she's such hard work. We have hardly anything in common since I came back to my faith and her visits are so intrusive. She eats huge amounts and expects company while she eats, she tells the same stories over and over again (a side effect of loneliness possibly) my son can't bear her company and I get no peace. She literally just starts talking about how excited she is and she's booking her holiday, then she's over for a couple of weeks.
The thing is, I don't like her, and I feel guilty. My son doesn't like her and he has to put up with her too. Her mai
Could people please pray for Northern Ireland, and specifically for peace - riots breaking out and good Christian people (Protestants as well as Catholics) being burned out of their homes for the colour of their skin. Those of you who pray the rosary, please pray for my neighbours.
Does anyone know where to find a dvd of Sacré Cœur ? I can't find the film anywhere online and would love to see it.
Lots of love to you all from Ireland.
Something I've noticed is that different languages encourage different kinds of social behaviour. In Irish, for example, there were (until recently) no formal words for yes or no. So in order to signal agreement or disagreement you had to reflect back a verb in the positive or negative. Even now, if you reply 'tá' or 'níl' it's considered terrible bad manners, because it suggests you weren't really listening.
It seems to me that BSL users are more attentive to the person their speaking with, more likely to focus on the conversation and less distracted than their hearing peers. Is that a fair observation, or have I just met lots of particularly lovely deaf people?
Does anyone know where I could watch some native signers coming out with proverbs or catch phrases? Things like 'speak of the devil and he appears' or 'the more things change the more they say the same' - I found learning sean-phocaile like this in Irish taught me a lot of vocabulary and structure, and I'm sure BSL must have a lot of similar sayings.
Finally got to start Big Finish and am totally delighted. At last I can say Colin Baker is my favourite Doctor. I always wanted him to be, but he was disappointingly served by the TV show. I am loving Colin. I even love the penguin.
And Mcgann. ❤️
I was at Mass this week and there was the funeral of an elderly, very much beloved lady who had been a devout Catholic. Normally on a weekday Mass we're about half full, if it's a bank holiday maybe three quarters. One this particular day the church was packed, we were filled probably beyond capacity. The mourners - family members and friends and neighbours, were not regular church goers. There were a few even from the Protestant community. (We're in Northern Ireland, this should tell you how well thought of us she was.)
There were a few things about the service, beautiful as it was, that didn't sit right. For a start, when the priest came in proceeding the coffin, the hired musicians sang
