Hello,
I am a senior undergraduate at an American institution. I will graduate in May of 2018. I will begin a PhD program in the fall of 2018.
I am trying to figure out what to do over the summer of 2018. I would like to do some sort of internship, if possible. This is my desire because (1) I want to learn new skills, (2) I want to make a bit of money, and (3) I prefer working to bumming around and being bored (or worse). Are there any summer internships available to people who have just finished their undergraduate degree and are preparing to start graduate school in the fall? My interests, broadly, lie in statistics, data science, and computer science. Thank you.
I'm currently applying to Statistics PhD programs. I'm interested in top 20 programs (e.g., UNC Chapel Hill and University of Michigan). I think my application is fairly strong, but my general GRE scores are somewhat lackluster. What are the approximate scores that students should shoot for when applying to these schools? I looked on the departmental websites and could not find any information.
Does anyone know where I can buy a wrist watch in College Park? I would like to be able to check the time during my exam tomorrow.
It's true that only 1% of college students would use violence to stop a speaker. But 56% support disinviting controversial speakers.
thefire.org/new-survey-majority-of-college-st...Hi all,
Does this sub maintain a Spotify playlist? I generally like listening to the top albums from each month's release poll, but it can be a bit annoying searching for albums individually. It would be great if the top albums were curated into a single playlist on a continual basis. Thanks!

I've been trying to get my hands on a Komplete Kontrol with 61 keys. Unfortunately, it's been out of stock on the NI site for some time. Does NI have plans to re-stalk? If so, will the re-stalked version be different than the old version?
One last question: Komplete Kontrol comes with NI select. If I instal NI select on my computer, and then buy a new computer in a few months, will I be able to transfer the software to my new computer? How many times am I allowed to transfer the software from computer to computer?
Thank you.
I've been using Logic Pro for several years, but I want to transition to a DAW that allows for scripting. I'd like to code things like automation, midi note placement, VST settings, etc. Are there any good options? I know that Ardour and Renoise have functionality for Lua scripting. Additionally, it's possible to script in Reaper via Reascript. Does anyone know which of these is the best option, or if there are other possibilities? My long-term goal is to automate certain aspects of the song-writing process (using, for instance, AI/ML algorithms).
I want to run a simple linear regression: y = ax + b + epsilon. I want to test whether the value of a is significantly greater than 0. I know as a fact that a cannot be negative given the nature of the problem.
My goal is to run a power analysis to determine the required sample size to get alpha = 0.005, power = 0.95, effect size = d (d can be determined later). This would be simple if I were computing a two-sided hypothesis test for a. However, seeing as a cannot be negative, the problem is more difficult.
