Also assume that the father in this case is the paterfamilias.
This was inspired by having seen a scene in the miniseries Spartacus.
I know the Lex Aquilla created penalties for injuring someone else's slave, but this is within one familia so my thinking is that doesn't apply.
When I try to go into threads where someone has responded to my comments, it turns into a blank screen. Apologies for the vagueness, I'm not as savvy with this app as I thought.
DAE still have anxiety when they make a (minor) mistake because you think of what their parents would say?
Like I started a new job a few weeks ago, so I was buying a new life insurance plan through my employer. I made the mistake of opting, on impulse, into their rider for accidental death and dismemberment insurance an extra $5.50 per month (which is relatively little compared to what I make in a pay period), before I realized I might have wasted my money (I know dad said that those sorts of policies were a waste of money especially since I'd already have term life insurance).
I shit you not, I freaked out when I was home alone (I live on my own, my parents sometimes visit, but they've k
Hi Chandlerites,
I'm actually going to be living in Casa Grande by the end of the month, and I drive a Toyota. Since the nearest Toyota dealership to me is in Chandler, I though this was the place to ask.
Does anyone know of any good, reliable mechanics in the area that works on Toyotas? Even a general thrust in the right direction would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
Catholic Masses to be celebrated in Cathedral taken by Church of Sweden
cruxnow.com/global-church/2018/04/10/swedens-...Forgive me if my question is stupid, but, after watching a Papal Mass, and hearing about how some of those same participants have gone and been Extremely Online, to put it euphemistically, I noticed that after the Gospel at the Vatican, the deacons (one Latin and one Italo-Albanian) go to the Pope, and the congregation sing, ""Eis polla eti, Despota." Now I know what it means in English, and that it happens when a bishop blesses something, but why is it in the Liturgy?
Okay, recent-ish law school grad here, and I saw an opening for an first-year associate position in a DC niche right-wing public interest firm that's been called "the 800-pound gorilla" of its specialty. The application is asking "What would you like your salary to be" and only allows you to enter a number.
I've looked at the Robert Half Salary Guide, but I'm unsure what the firm's size is - I've seen them often in the national news, and met some of their attorneys long ago at a networking event, but I don't know how big they are, and thus can't calculate the probable salary range (Biglaw is differend from mid-sized firms, after all).
Thoughts? Advice?
12-year-old shot during (Advent) Mass in the Philippines
qz.com/872379/at-christmas-mass-a-12-year-old...Posting here since the Cal Bar Exam reddits are all but moribund:
Studying for the February resit, and I'm using the old questions for Corporations, and answered a question using the rules I got from my old outline+Barbri, and it looked nothing like the sample answer they had. Should I follow the sample answer or Barbri?
I go to Mass today (obligatory feast day FTW) but I go today to a different parish than where I and my parents usually go (I have my own car). Dad (who is preparing to leave for Mass now; he had work so he couldn't go earlier himself) asks me where I went for Mass. I tell him the truth. He goes all passive-aggressively scolding me for "wasting gas" for not going to the parish we usually go to. Telling him that both parishes were the same distance from the house, only in different directions, and that there was barely any traffic when I went doesn't convince him. He's absolutely convinced I'm wasting money.
Just had to get it out there.
What it says on the title. I've heard conflicting assertions from people.
