“We could use more size up front. Onyeka (Okongwu) is awesome. We view him as a long-term starter. Happy to have Jock (Landale) back too. (Henri) Veesaar is a project. He’s not years away, but he’s probably not ready this season. But we’ve still got some cards to play,” A Hawks front office executive said.

Not only have we not added the size, but we even lost some with the injury to Veesaar. I'm more certain than ever that we had a trade for a big man lined up that involved Hield that fell through fo

"I've been very very measured about what I've been saying about that, but it's wrong. We played (Orlando) last year, we were in a similar situation where we playing really well, and two guys on our team were knocked out for the season, both on dirty plays.

So here we are, a year removed, and we could see it coming. That's the game plan against the Hawks, but it didn't work, because we were tough. And then it turned in to that when the game was over. It makes me really, really angry."

This is very important because of the Pelicans pick as currently the Wizards are 3 games 'ahead' of them in the tankoff.

One of the rarely mentioned positives of this trade is that if Trae is still as good as some hope, the Wizards should be able to pick up more wins, creating even more separation from the Pelicans and further solidifying the possibility of the Hawks having a top 4 pick.

Recent rumblings suggest that the Wizards may pull a Toronto(with Brandon Ingram) and shut him down for the entire season however, because they are in danger of losing their pick since it is top 8 protected.

Part of me just can't imagine Trae being okay with missing the rest of the season however, so

Multiple Hawks media members pointed out that the Sixers had Joel Embiid listed as OUT all the way up until the morning of their game against the Hawks yesterday, when all of a sudden they updated his status to QUESTIONABLE.

Maybe I haven't been paying attention enough, but I don't think I've ever seen a team be able to switch a player's status once they have been listed as OUT for a game.

If the Sixers knew he had even the smallest chance to play in the days leading to the game, shouldn't he have been listed as DOUBTFUL?

Why are the Sixers allowed to just cheat the system like this? Does the league not care?

Why don't more teams do this then if no one seems to care that the Sixers can
