Any tips for how to determine ahead of time if I need to bring enough water to dry camp?

I'm going camping in Butano State Park (California), there should be a small creek near camp (Little Butano Creek), however the only water gauge I can find is past a fork downstream (4 Cu. ft./s). Is there another way I can guesstimate if there is enough water flow to be safe for filtering?

Has anyone hiked past Little Butano Creek lately? Is there enough water flow to filter?

I'm going backpacking at Butano State Park this week, trying to decide if I should pack enough water to dry camp or if I can count on collecting water from Little Butano Creek around the Backpacker's Trail Camp.

How will the Bilt 2.0 show up on my credit report?

I know they said they will NOT be doing a hard credit check, but will the existing card be “closed” and a new card ”opened”? This would lower my average account age which in turn could lower my credit score.

I’m asking because I am debating between keeping it as a no annual fee sock drawer card, just in case I end up wanting to use it in the future, or closing it out before the transition.

Anyone have tire recommendations for a 2012 Prius?

I'm going to be making the occasional trip up to Tahoe, so some snow + ice traction is a must. Aside from that I'm optimizing for a quiet drive and fuel economy. I don't actually drive that many miles so probably will need to replace the tire out of age rather than tread depth.

Thanks!

Im starting Entyvio soon and my doc wants me to get some blood work done around the same time. Have people been getting blood drawn from an IV prior to infusion so they don’t need to get poked twice?

My hospital scheduler seemed to suggest I had to go to the Lab first to get a normal blood draw, then check into the infusion center to get the IV :(.

Hi!

I’m at 19,850 miles this year which means I can finally earn status for my very first time! I still have my 10K milestone to redeem, so I was hoping to get the try silver status so I don’t need to wait for another flight.

My question is, what kinds of flights benefit most from silver status? I understand it’s the lowest status and honestly I may be buying into Alaska’s marketing since I’m very excited about this but I don’t even know what “this” is.

Anyways, curious to hear your thoughts about what you enjoy about Silver and if I’m just in for disappointment.

Based out of SFO, no trips planned yet but looking to get one more before the end of the year.

Hi, I’m new to UC (diagnosed ~1 year ago, symptoms getting slightly worse over time but largely I’m used to it). About a month ago I started flaring and now I’m severely anemic, going every 4 hours even through the night. At what point do you call it quits and ask for prednisone? Is there a protocol somewhere I can see when meds are switched out and what the next med is?

I’m maxed out on mesalamine (orally and rectally). Also just started taking soluble fiber which actually seems to be working quite well in forming up my stools.

Unfortunately my doc is a bit booked out so my next appointment with him isn’t for another few months :(

Does Main Cabin Basic earn 100% or 30% of miles flown when flying on an Alaska flight booked via Hawaiian w/ a Hawaiian FF number?

From https://hawaiianair.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3244/~/main-cabin-basic it seems like it earns 100% of the miles flown but from here X class is listed as 30% https://hawaiianair.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/541

I've verified that the Main Cabin Basic ticket corresponds to an X class ticket in the Alaska system, but different reps have been giving me different answers...

Seems reasonable for

Hi I'm a new voter and I'm trying to make sense of all the election emails I'm getting.

Does Cupertino have debates or Q&A sessions for the local races?

If not, how can I get some impartial information or at least determine how much of the accusations true vs. exaggerated?

There seems like a lot of finger pointing going on in these races and I'm sure I'm not getting the full picture at the moment.

Hi!

Today's my first day on the new EMUs and I noticed that the internet keeps dropping. A bit less important for web surfing because it is restored again after 10-15 seconds. However when listening to Zoom calls and such the gap is enough to disconnect the call.

What has your experience been?

Is MVP worth it?

MILES & STATUS

I'm 1.5 round trip transcontinental flights (8-9k miles) short of MVP status right now. I'm trying to figure out if it's worth getting the status. I want to do another trip but I'm not sure about two.

Option 1: go for status, squeeze 2 trips from SFO to JFK in.

Option 2: save money now, 1 trip from SFO to JFK but with whatever airline is cheapest (JetBlue maybe)

I hear MVP Gold is where it's at so I'm not sure if it's worth paying more and struggling to meet the regular MVP requirements.

For reference, I travel 3-4 times a year, generally in the off seasons. I already have pre-check and don't mind boarding last. I think the main benefit I'm looking forward to is the upgrades that stat

Hi I've found a place near Jefferson Square Park (on the corner of Golden Gate and Gough).

What should I consider prior to signing the lease?

Yesterday I saw two people huddled around something (presumably drugs) right at the doorstep but they disappeared ~30 minutes later. Is this a common occurrence? Should I be worried?

Also street noise in the area seems higher than average at night but I'll be 3 floors up so maybe that's okay?
