I notice no one else has put in a meetup, so this year I'm planning on actually attending by hosting one 20 feet away from my tent. Knowing me I'll probably still miss it somehow.

Anyway, come on out, put some usernames to faces, have some breakfast foods and breakfast cocktails at the Dusty Sanchez or Innsmouth's Finest, in the 7:30 sector Golden Guy.

When: 9AM Tuesday till it gets too hot (probably like 11:30)

Titled Frequently Questioned Answers (FQA), we have a unique take on passing on knowledge; rather than making people sit through a presentation, we have a science fair format where we'll have experienced burners there to talk about aspects of the event, like:

We have an extra special Happy Hour coming up in 2 weeks — Theme Camp Speed Dating!

One of the questions I get asked the most is how to find a camp -- and this event is for you! Come meet camps and see who you groove with.

If you've already found a theme camp (or aren't looking for one), you're still very welcome — come meet other NYC burners, reconnect with the community, and see what camps around the city are building.

We'll be hosted at the Gemini and Scorpio Loft in Brooklyn and running an expo-style format, so you can wander around, meet representatives from different camps, and learn what each one is all about. Sit and talk for a little or a long time.

If you're a new or seasoned burner in NYC looking for a new camp this year, or just want to see what the local scene has to offer, we have Burning Man NYC Theme Camp Speed Dating coming up March 12th in Brooklyn.

This is a FREE and inclusive event to connect local NYC burners with local NYC theme camps. We'll have an expo format where people can go around and talk to each of the theme camps, vibe each other out, and learn more about their interactivity, and any things they do around New York. Last year we had a very popular event and made a ton of connections, and we're hoping this year will be even bigger!

Hope to see you there!

Hi y'all,

One of the questions I get asked the most is how to find a camp in NYC, and if you're wondering that Theme Camp Expo is for you. It's our annual free event where we connect NYC Burners with NYC camps. Even if you have a camp, it's a pretty good night to come out and meet more!

As part of our weekly Burning Man Happy Hour here in NYC, we'll be hosting a pre-Love Burn NYC meetup next Wednesday, the 31st, at 6PM onward, at Mad Tropical in Bushwick.

I've heard from a lot of new burners that they'd like to connect before heading down to Miami: this meetup is for you! Come ask any questions, find some camp mates, or maybe just find a few people to say hello to. As always, Happy Hour is always free to enter, and we'll have some experienced burners to answer questions. Hope to see you there!

This Wednesday, come to the FREE Desert Arts Preview, where we'll have many artists presenting their projects they're bringing out to playa this year. It is a great chance to meet people taking art out there, see if you can get involved, and perhaps be inspired to make your own pieces (not too late to hammer one out for this year!)

It's our most well attended Wednesday of the year! And if I have somehow not managed to find you bringing an art project from NYC, it's not too late to sign up to present either.

It is almost upon us. For those that are making their first trip into the shit show, we salute you. Main Sale starts promptly at 12 PST this Wednesday (hopefully y'all registered last week!). Details are at tickets: https://tickets.burningman.org/

Every year I think, oh yeah, I should tell new people some tips, about like 10 minutes after the sale ends, so this time at least, I'm starting early.

Here's my best tips:

  1. The tickets will go FAST. Or the servers will go down, and we’ll be there for 3 hours. Get on the site early, and clear your calendar for the period after. Generally, it lasts like 40 min to an hour, but it has dragged on due to t
