Hello fellow Dubaians!

A friend of mine was asking about different volunteering opportunities in Dubai and wanted to know if anyone here does any volunteering?

I volunteer at The Old Library over at Gold and Diamond Park and I've been doing that for a few years, but I'm trying to find more variety and more opportunities that I've started compiling a list for both high school students and adults.

Other than K9 Friends and Thrift4Good, where does everyone volunteer?

I love this game. Coming from Pokemon Go, this is exactly what I wanted.

After a few days of playing though, I'm starting to notice the same registry stickers over and over again. It's not a bad thing, I may be playing a bit too much, to be fair. The only thing I really want to see is how they would expand on the registry system.

As much as I love the current 'stickers' - they seem like they only took the most obvious points from the movies. There's so much in the Harry Potter universe that I feel can be added in the future (whether as permanent editions or as events registry pages) that I thought I'd bring it up and ask the reddit - what future registry images

Other than listening on the commute or at the gym - I'm finding myself truly enjoying an audiobook if I'm outside playing Pokemon Go.

I know a few people that listen while playing video games, which I can't seem to do - I just get distracted on the game itself. I guess with Pokemon Go there's just a lot of walking involved to keep me focused.

So I'm curious - besides the regular times one would listen to an audiobook, what are your favorite activities?

So I got the whole Black Ocean Mobius Missions omnibus at the March/April sale when I first joined Audible, and for 80 hours of content at $5, that's a really great deal!

I'm already halfway through it and I'm enjoying it so far.

Now that I've got my next credit, I was looking for a similar full-series/omnibus set that I can spend it on.

Does anyone have any suggestions/recommendations on what they've enjoyed?

One of my best friends', her birthday is coming up - there's this one book she's been looking for her entire life.

It's a book her mother had read some 30-odd years ago, one of the characters was such a huge inspiration to her that she named her daughter after her - "Camille".

Now I've been wanting to find that book for Camille's birthday, but her mom can't remember the name of the book or the author - and countless hours of searching through Google hasn't helped yielded any results.

Now I come to you r/whatsthatbook for your help.

All I have is the following recollection of the story from her mother:

"It's about three friends, one of them Ca

Hey r/Dubai !

I couldn't find any posts on the sub regarding the Old Library so thought I should share.

The Old Library is an all-English non-profit library completely run by volunteers that has been running for nearly 50 years now. Alas, it's an amazing place that deserves more recognition.

It's been relocated recently to Emaar's Gold & Diamond Park (right in front of First Abu Dhabi Bank Metro Station).

You can find the article regarding the recent opening on the National here.

So April was a fantastic month for me reading-wise, I read 16 books in total! While I'm not naive to think I can keep that reading streak up, I normally read about 1 or 2 books a week.

However, while I have 4 books I really wanted to dive into (2 of them being the continuation of series I'm currently reading), I'm starting to notice the oh-so-familiar reading slump signs starting to show.

My question is, what do you guys do when you notice that you're starting to get into a reading slump? [I was thinking of rereading Harry Potter, specifically for nostalgia]

I'm just curious about what people's reading habits are. I personally love reading challenges, I find that my reading becomes more varied as I try to find books that fit a certain category.

I currently am doing the PopSugar reading challenge with a few of my friends, we have one gigantic Excel sheet where we all edit and track - it becomes 'slightly' competitive, but we do share lots of great suggestions.

How about you lovely people? Do you partake in the reading challenges? Do you do the monthly/quarterly/annual variety? Are you currently doing one right now?
