Since u/stevenaugustus thread about how to make Stellaris better became so popular I decided I will do a thread about my observations too. But while he focused on how to add/change things to the actual game, many which could be argued by the Pararadox staff, and if decided positive would take a lot of thought and work to add.

I will instead focus on my biggest issue with Stellaris, the UI. And unlike the other thread, the things I bring up should without argument have been in the game from the start, they are straight improvements with no drawbacks. To be frank, I think Paradox dropped the ball here.

It all started with me deciding to write down every problem I ran into during a 5 hour

I love big maps, so in my first run I went straight for the maximum size 1000 stars, and filled it to the maximum number of factions (40 or so?). Having played for a while, the whole map is populated now, but I have the biggest and by far strongest faction with 40 or so colonies.

The problem is, even despite having a overwhelming military power to everyone else it takes forever to take over planets. Please tell me if I am doing something wrong and if there is a faster way.

From what I understand, you can not directly take over colonies, you have to first occupy them and then demand it as a gift in the peace treaty after winning some battles showing you are the stronger faction.

The prob

So Hurricane Pike (new 6.87 item) totally removes ranged restriction from attacks for 4 attacks.

  1. Buy on Enchantress and use on enemy, pushing you 900 range away from each other.

  2. Blink away (1200 range).

  3. Attack 4 times with maxed range impetus dealing 625 pure each time = 2500 pure dmg.

  4. Profit

PS: You still need vision on target, but that is easily fixed. Either by wards, using it when around creeps, BH track, BM eagle, etc etc etc, vision is not hard to get.

EDIT: Apparently I jumped the gun posting this before reading the hero updates. Chantress max impetus is now "only" 385 dmg. Thanks fam!

I played Fallout 4 when it came out, and while I did finish the main story I spent little time on side quests and exploring because I was pretty disappointing with all the bugs left in the game.

Today, after seeing people talk about patch 1.5 and the survival mode I decided to give it another go, because I really wanted to love Fallout 4 like I loved Fallout 3 which I explored every square of the map in.

So I reinstall the game and start a new game, I spend 30 minutes in vault 111 exploring every room, picking up every item, getting used to the game again, then in the final room there is a terminal (the one where you can play a game), I go up to it and press E.

Aaaaaand I get fucking s

When acquiring a Gem, you will see the strongest warriors wanting to carry it. But giving the Gem to your strongest warrior might not always be the right decision. Blinded by the powers it gives, they might go out seeking death and dominion. And on doing this they might find themselves lured into a trap, surrounded and overpowered.

Indeed many of the heroes deceived by the power of the Gem will eventually die, and pass on the Gem to a new owner. For the power of the Gem can not simply be destroyed. Only in the fires of the fallen throne can it be undone.

No, the true carrier of the gem is someone who will not go out seeking death, but to selflessly protect himself and his team, to simply

This was one of the most well received parts of the changelog, and its pretty sweet. But there is a huge problem with it, at least for me.

I got all my warriors (people with gun) set to attack on threat. Its great when some predator gets close to base, an animal goes wild, or there is a sudden prison break.

The problem is, the second one of my colonists goes berserk, his head is blown off. There isnt even any time to pause the game. My only doctor (and chef) was in a bad mood cause I had him butchering people. He went berserk in middle of the kitchen, and four of my warriors instantly started shooting at him. A second later there was nothing but holes left of him. I can only imagine if on

So in my quest to get rid of every plant on the map, I figured the fastest way was to start a bunch of forest fires.

10 times I started fires by going around throwing Molotows.

10 times in a row it started raining only 30-60 seconds after I started.

Not sure I like this feature. Not because it makes my quest harder, but it feels like a safety setting to save you in case of an emergency. I feel like if an such an event happens you should have to deal with it yourself, not being automatically saved by a "miracle" rain. At least for the harder difficulties.

Plan B: I'm gonna cement the whole map. Fuck trees.

You too can be free, free of burden, free of torment.

KILL, and be set free. KILL all, and all is set free.

Do what you know is right.
