I have an open packraft - so I always get wet even if I don’t fall in.
For day trips I wear neoprene pants for a bit of warmth and wind chill protection. For long trips this isn’t any good because wet wetsuit pants don’t dry and are SUPER heavy to carry.
Does anyone have ideas that are cheaper (and less warm) than a dry suit?
I’m trying to make a list of countries where I can hike and camp along the trail.
Many places only permit camping at designated campgrounds or huts and I want to avoid them.
If your country permits hiking and camping, could you please name the country and a beautiful multi-day hike?
Hi all - has anyone done the Southern Circuit at Cathedral Range? I’m particularly interested in your impressions on the scrambling required and how it compares to other hikes you’ve done?
For those of you in (western) Europe, can I ask a question? Are you permitted to hike with a dog? What are the generally accepted rules (official or unspoken)?
I noticed during my last holiday to France, there were a lot of dogs in public and they were even permitted in cafes! I wondered if this extended to the hiking trails and huts?
I live in Australia and most of the hiking trails are in National Parks which forbid dogs (because the smell scares off the wildlife), but I’d love to do multi-day hikes with my doggo.
What is your recommended list of “skills to learn” for beginner sea kayakers? I want to spend 5 or 6 days paddling north from the Ningaloo Reef up towards Exmouth (Western Australia), so I want to make a plan to develop the skills I will need to do this safely. Any suggestions ?
Can anyone suggest me a fantasy which won’t put me through sadness / injustice / hopelessness or any other negative feelings please?
I need something escapist but I’m so on edge that if the author wants me to feel 2/10 sadness I’m going to go 10 all the way!!
Character based is good, doesn’t have to be action filled ... ?
