Our fireteam just got the contest mode clear on RON. A big struggle was that we didn't seem to be doing all that much damage to the boss; a lot of people didn't seem to struggle with this, but I figure we couldn't have been the only ones, and I haven't seen much guidance, so here was what worked for us:

tl;dr five Thunderlords with catalyst and Divinity

Rocket DPS strats were very inconsistent because Nezarec moves around so much, making it difficult to hit your shots (and one missed rocket is brutal) and to not blow yourself up hitting a teammate. Tractor Cannon + swords is probably a reasonable speed strat if you can do it; probably requires a bunch of people on Well in case of sh

Title. I've been leveling a paladin as holy via dungeon spam since 51 or so (just shy of 59 now) and my HPS always seems to drop hard in Necrotic Wake. Had a couple idiots get nasty at me over it last night.

I'm wondering if Necrotic Bolt is the problem--for the unaware, it applies a debuff that absorbs healing, so its effective damage is much higher than your health bar shows. I'm wondering if Details doesn't account for the healing you have to pour in to remove the debuff.

If not Necrotic Bolt, then what else might be the problem?

SPEED CONTROL IN VGC

Speed Control is, essentially, the art of getting to attack first in Pokemon. Turn order in Pokemon is determined first by the priority of the moves being used, then by the speed stats of all Pokemon in battle. Higher priority goes first, then higher speed. Simple enough, right? Well, over the years, Game Freak has given us a ton of ways to manipulate that speed stat, so here's a guide on how to do that in VGC 2017!

WHY SPEED MATTERS

There are a ton of examples. Say fully-offensive Gengar and Tapu Lele are fighting. Tapu Lele's Psychic does a whole lot of damage:

252+ SpA Life Orb Tapu Lele Psychic vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Gengar in Psychic Terrain: 416-491 (308.1 -

TL;DR Mandibuzz, SwagFini, Gigavolt Havoc Arcanine, Scarf Nihilego, Gigalith, _______

So this team came about through a very roundabout process. It started with a Mimikyu/Silvally team, which I think I've since deleted, but I decided I liked the Arcanine/Fini/Muk combination I had in the back. I added Chomp, then I added Gigalith I think? Further playtesting indicated Muk wasn't doing as well as I wanted, so I replaced it with Mandibuzz. Somewhere along the line I was watching Cybertron wreck house with Scarf Nihilego, and thought it fit the team's needs perfectly. And now here I am, trying to figure out some issues I felt the team had. Which is where Stunfisk comes in!
