I bought a laptop from someone who might or might not be honest. I found a cache of auto fills and passwords…which makes me think he might have sold me something that wasn’t new.

He’s asking for the service tag and I’m wondering if I should share it. What would be there that could be used to his advantage and my disadvantage?

The gas company swapped out my meter yesterday and as part of this project spray painted it but not the pipes that connect it to the house. These look rusted and awful now. Because the help at the local HD know zip about most things, I’m not asking there. But I trust you all! Do I need to buy some kind of special product? The paint the guy used on the meter looks industrial grade.

It’s time for a new roof and I’m super anxious about this process, so much so that I keep avoiding moving forward.

This is my first big home-related expense and I’m worried I’ll get ripped off or saddled with work that’s not up to snuff. I’ve already had the experience of being taken advantage of in lesser repairs and I don’t care to experience that again. Adding to my nervousness is the fact that I am a single woman and know nothing about any of this kind of work.

Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks but no thanks. I saw through you immediately. Giving me your name, location, and age only made it worse—I Googled and you’re obviously not that person. I knew you weren’t bright and that move only confirmed my hunch.

Pastor here. I am assembling a list of resources for my congregation who will be staying home during the coronavirus crisis. I am a big fan of Krista Tippett‘s podcast On Being and so will be recommending it. What other podcasts might my people enjoy listening to—and why?
