The theory is that the Golden Throne was created by the Necrontyr as a weapon against the Old Ones. The Necrontyr didn't have real psykers so they designed the Throne as a psychic enhancer/resonator to level the psychic playing field between them and the Old Ones. They quickly discovered that they didn't have enough latent ability or psyker "fuel" to make it work and abandoned it.

Fast forward to Big E and Malcador finding the Throne and realizing it's true abilities. Big E uses it as a resonator in the webway project but finds out that it can also be used as an enhancer if Psykers are used to fuel it. The increases are small and as the person seated on the throne is enhanced, it requ

I'm getting a new receiver today. I'm adding a sub to my 5 channel system and expanding to Atmos. I don't have purpose built Atmos speakers to sink into the ceiling and most the folks don't seem to care for the bounce speakers.

I'm using small surround speakers on swivel mounts and I'm trying to find out if I should place them on the ceiling in the listening arc equidistance between mains and listening position, the side walls equidistance between the surround and mains near the ceiling, or near the ceiling above the mains.

So I've had quite a few conversations with GPT 4 about this. Asking directly if it has any prompting knowledge, it admits it has none. If you tell it what you want, it will ask Dall.e basically the same thing instead of translating your request into a prompt designed to get the most out of Dall.e 3.

I find this to be bewildering since rather than have it be beneficial in creating more accurate pictures, it just serves as feckless middleman, more often hurting accurate image requests than helping. Yes, it can be helpful as is for the layman, but it would be more helpful, even to the layman, to translate a request into expert prompt form.

It just seems wacky to not have their own

So I've been redoing my collection for streaming, you know, modernizing and such. I've been creating 1080p Dolby Vision encodes using Handbrake 1.7.1 and so far I thought things were going well. Then I discovered today that none of my videos were flagging as Dolby Vision, only HDR. I did a bunch of tests and some research and stumbled on the answer.

Dolby Vision on h.265 10-bit Main 10 won't flag in an MKV container. But if you have Handbrake put it into an MP4 container, it flags just fine. I tested with fresh source files, re-encoding my previous non-flagging encodes and by just renaming the files from MKV to MP4 (Dumb but I was hopeful). The fresh sources and re-encodes successf

I've been at this since April. Everything went fast and easy till I hit sleepstudy. I had a really high AHI. It was like 124. Getting my equipment took a month and my doctor didn't have another opening for 2 months past that. Then I had claustrophobia problems with the masks, I went through 5 befit I found one that worked.

Then I sit down and my Bariatric nurse tells me I've been gaining weight and my insurance likely won't pay for the study. Admittedly, I assumed wrongly that if I lost weight, they'd think I didn't need it and reject me so I actually gained weight. Turns out it's the opposite. So my nurse said I'd really need to bust weight off before my sleep appointment which ga

So, in a nutshell, it was a lovely comment about my take on the current war in the Middle East. Imagine that. I made the comment on r/NPR and there were no actions taken there since it doesn't violate the rules of that sub. Today I get on Reddit to find I've been permabanned from r/therewasanattempt, r/Documentaries, r/boringdystopia, and r/worldnewsvideo. All 4 bans point to my NPR comment and say they violate the community rules even though it wasn't made on those subs. They also tell me to contact the mods if I have questions but whichever moed that operates in all 4 of those subs
