Politics aside, garbage is one of the weakest sets I've ever seen. I get the fact that it had to be put together extremely quickly and it's not a special that has been refined after trying out material for a long time. But, the jokes were so extremely hack and it ended up being a bunch of excuses and humble brags. The worst was probably bragging about his watermelon joke. The joke was not good even after he explained it. I get being a "douche" is a concept, but he is slowly becoming the next Uncle Lazer not the next Jesus.
I love meeting people from all over the world and specially people visiting Oslo. Last year I was able to meet a lot of new people at the Mirage Film Festival, where I was volunteering. Great international film program as well. Really looking forward to doing it again this October.
But, what are some other venues where you can meet international visitors?
We are four Norwegian guys with a combined age of around 160.
Two of us are programmers. One is a designer/animator (and also a semi famous actor). And I used to direct film and TV.
We have:
- no funding
- no experience running a dev company
- lots of spare time
- Norwegian blood running through our veins
- a very cool concept based on our forefathers (but we are not limiting ourselves what actually happened)
What are the best advice you could give a n00b like me?
So I've been hitting Mythic on ladder every month in 2023 with relative ease. So times I get there in a few days and other times I've hit it just a week before next season. I've been top #200 a couple of times, but usually get stuck around 98% Mythic. This month I'm totally stuck in Platinum. Can't climb at all.
Just before this I accumulated a LOT of gems and wildcards from grinding Alchemy events and I had a really high win rate (probably around 70%) and I feels like Arena is punishing me. I've even started playing the most meta red decks I can find, but nothing helps. It just feels like I matching against upper mythic players and getting bad matchups all the time.
Any advice?
My nephews have been playing Magic for a year or so. Jump-start and Standard Precons. I want to get them into commander, but want to spend the least amount of money and time to give the one deck each for their birthday. Precons are probably the way to go, but I want it to be a fairly even 1v1 game as they will probably play that more than anything else. They should also cost about the same.
I mainly play standard, so I don't have a clue where to start. I've played a few drafts and will play more, but I'm looking for a format and/or a deck where the cards can really shine.
What should I do? Sick of watching videos and sorting out my paper cards...
