Hi,

A friend of mine and I are working on a game for fun. In the game at the loading screen, the game asks for the player to log into Netflix. The game it self is played by picking up crates and smashing them. When the crate breaks, a screen falls out that is playing a direct link to Netflix movies and shows.

My question is, if we were to release this game for free, would we get a cease and desist or sued by Netflix?

Hey I was thinking about a game mode for newer players.

The new mode would be called "Mentor"

This mode is just regular all pick dota but the change is that 1 experienced player, on each team, plays with the others aiding them on how to play the game. The number of games each player has played is displayed in the pick screen below the icon, where highest player mmr is normally shown. At the end of the match, the new players get to "rate" their mentor's conduct. This is to remove badly behaved mentors from the system. It also would provide an incentive by increasing the drop rate of items in this mode for being a highly rated mentor.

To become a mentor there would need to be minimum requi

So I need a little help with C++

I am completely new to it but I am very experienced in HLSL, GLSL, and C#

In Unreal4 I have done everything in blueprint thus far but I have hit a wall. I need to get the rows of a Dynamic DataTable. Unreal by design does not allow Non literal data table input on the "Get Data table Row node" but someone made a work around

https://answers.unrealengine.com/questions/172007/datatablerowhandle-to-get-data-table-row-only-lite.html

What I need is to see the code in context. I don't know what goes at the top of the header or what else is needed besides

Personally I think the new report system is flawed because the value of who you report is skewed. I look at systems and how I can 'game' them because I have played games all my life. If I look at the report system this way, a large problem shows up to me. It simply boils down to this,

Because we have a limited number of reports, it is more valuable to report players that play annoying heroes like techies, than to actually report someone for conduct.

I am in no way condoning reporting players for hero picks. I push systems here and there, especially right now when I'm just not having that much fun with dota2 (I suck at the game and have spent 2k hours on it). I am also incredibly superstiti

Now that Dominator is more comparable to Drum, I imagine more supports will pick this item up. This is not a new suggestion but would giving a creep invisibility be fun for players? Players could Dominate this creep then use this creep to scout, act as a teleport destination, secretly block camps, or have other uses depending on how the skill would be balanced.

I imagine that creeps wouldn't naturally cast some form of invisibility but, the spell would become available to the person controlling the creep. The ability use would be similar to the way that Satyr Banishers have purge but do not use the spell themselves. The spell is available for use to the player when the satyr is dominated.

Many people are flipping out about the changes to the report system. The change was not without reason. A month or two ago there was a post about Steam Dev days and a talk about psychology in games. It sounded interesting to me as the report system in dota2 was specifically mentioned, so I kept tabs on it.

The talk was recently uploaded:

The video is pretty good and I personally have no problem with the new system. People are mad, people want things to change and Valve got a reaction. I think that could be important when attempting to make major progress in community behavior. I am curious to see where we will be in 2 months with our conduct. P
