My sister has a diagnosed bipolar disorder and she is treated by a psychiatrist. She takes her meds but is generally difficult to deal with. Lately she is becoming verbally aggressive with our mother, she accused her of all the worst things and ultimately pushed her to move away from her own house (they used to live together). My mother is desperate and doesn't know what to do and so do I. I think she's having a psychotic episode and worried things might get worse. What would you do? Thanks a lot for your help .

Hello, our son was a great sleeper until he hit 18 months. Now the only way to get him to sleep is by putting him in his pram and moving him around for a while. It’s been impossible to get him to sleep in his crib for the past few months, and we are exhausted. He also only falls asleep after drinking milk from his bottle, and he still has a bottle in the morning when he wakes up. We just haven’t managed to wean him. I feel really bad—he’s almost two now and we still haven’t been able to wean him. I’m getting really stressed, worried it’s bad for his health. But we are so tired, and he cries so hard if we don’t give him the bottle that we always end up avoiding the next step. Does anyone have

Feeling empty after a deadline

Life/Self/Spirituality

I submitted my PhD ten days ago and since I've been feeling completely empty. I have a small kid and a secure job which takes a few days of my time, but not any new interesting project coming. This situation is giving me a strange form of anxiety, I know I should relax and enjoy a quieter moment (I have always worked a lot) but this doesn't seem to work, I feel unable to concentrate and fear of being stuck. I also get plenty of fears about the future and get insomnia. I had suffered from depression before and so I fear it would relapse.

What would you do? How can I be productive and happier in this situation? What has helped you in a similar situation? Thanks for your advice.

I read Reddit frequently and often happen to agree with comments made from people coming from very far away realities and find helpful suggestions and relatable stories. At the same time I think that there are some specific orientations, like a lot of people on Reddit seem to be depressed and/or in therapy and dissatisfied with life. I wonder if that depends on the fact that people would mostly post when they feel like they are in a bad place and need advice or simply a lot of people would never open about some subjects in everyday life so Reddit provides a good place to share about some uncomfortable subjects.

In a sense it seems like it is an anti-Instagram where on the opposite people w

I found some pictures I had never seen before in my childhood house, they belong to my grandfather and are very graphic. I'm shocked and saddened. He died when I was very young, but I never knew about his past. Everyone in the family kept telling how loving he was. My father passed away a few years ago and he never mentioned these episodes or even the existence of the photos I've found. What would you do? Do you know of any resources I could use, books or other, describing how to deal with a difficult past?

I don't know if this is the right subreddit to ask this question, but I found the comments here often wise and interesting.

I'm looking for advice since I really can't find anyone to talk about my situation, the people I know are in very different conditions and wouldn't understand.

For a few years, I suffered for debilitating depression, I wasn't anymore able to be with other people, I would fear anything, I always thought that the worst was going to happen, to the point that I stopped trying to do anything since I thought it would have gone wrong. I had only worked highly demanding jobs with long hours and responsibilities and little earnings. I felt trapped.

Long story short, after years of therapy and a huge help from my boyfriend I was able to live again, work, travel, have fun, meet people, find a job I l

Bonjour,
