Hey all - Autodesk quietly announced this and you may have seen the popup in Forma in the last day, or maybe not.

As of November 17, 2026 you MUST be in a currently-supported Revit version (Current - 5, So 2027, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2022) to continue to use Cloud Collaboration with that project.

This will change with each new release, so don't just upgrade to 2022, go to at least 2023 because come March/ April 2022 support will drop w hen 2028 releases.

I have come across many projects and clients that are keeping things as far back as 2019, so I know this is an industry issue. Autodesk is looking to enforce the EULA as well as not run into the headaches of people yelling when content catalog it

Hey all. I have a request from our M&P team I'm looking for some help with. They want to be able to review parameter data of all the fixture types and systems in their template without modeling them.

Since things don't show up in Revit schedules without being modeled, reviewing in a schedule isn't an option. I'm not aware of a tool or a method that will let us access this data without actually modeling sample objects. Anyone in this forum aware of such a tool or methodology?

Ok folks, budget time 2025 and we've acquired a few smaller companies that were using Rushforth tools. I've looked at them in the past but can't justify the cost. Particularly when - as a Fed. contractor - we have to maintain 5 versions of Revit at a time because they don't let us upgrade models. (Or so my PMs say)

With a cost of $625/ user I'm not seeing the value. Am I missing something? Is there anything here I can't get out of PyRevit/ Ideate, Dynamo scripts, and DiRoots?

Wish that I had time to do extensive testing, but I don't so I'm gathering other folks experiences.

Ok, trying a new workflow and need some tool advice/ thoughts.

I've been successful in getting Recap 2026 to produce a Mesh that's good enough for a project scope (it's not being changed, just needs paint, notes.) Getting that mesh into Revit is proving to be the challenge.

What I'm looking for is validation on the last step. Revit supposedly will import the .nwc file Recap can Export, or even the .obj file. Exporting both and trying has resulted in invisible models that don't show even in a 'blank' Revit template (2025).

Gut tells me this should work since they're right there in the "import" fields, but it's just not. Google searches give me old version results that say "You need t

Anyone checking this out? It's a mess so far. So many features lacking it seems I'd be crazy to implement it. I feel like I've lost time waiting for this beta, which is more of a mid-alpha.

  • No ability to add users to multiple groups at once
  • No ability to remove users from a group
  • No ability to delete catalogs
  • No ability to bulk-shift content to a new catalog
  • No collection hierarchy and inheritance. (If I upload an Air handler, it should also be an "Air-Side Component, which are also Mechanical Equipment, which are also "Imperial" content.) I can tag for these manually, but let me create a structured content system!

In all it feels like if I implemented, I'd be creating more

Content - We all manage it. We all need to use it. It needs to be findable, usable, scalable, and easily accessible.

Until a few months ago I'd have said Unifi wins this hands-down for Revit. However, I couldn't get corporate to pull the trigger on purchase before Autodesk bought them. Now you can't get the old desktop version, and we're being offered the web version for free until the product actually releases. It has proven lackluster compared to the old model and at the state it's currently in, there's no way I'm rolling it out to the whole company. Yet I need a CMS sooner rather than later.

I've taken a look at Avail and it's missing features I want. It also has an interface that r

Revit Point Cloud Caching

Modeling Techniques

I'm not in office to check this, so I'm going to ask the group.

When a Revit file contains a point cloud that's hosted on the local server, does it create a local cache for that file in the same way it creates a local copy of the Revit file?

The issue, of course, is size. I've got multiple project groups trying to leverage point clouds outside of my own vertical with drive space issues. They're hosting the cloud in Sharepoint and syncing it locally via OneDrive (I know, I know.) so that's syncing locally.

They've come to me to ask how to fix this, and office file storage is the only option I can think of outside of "buy them bigger drives."

So there's my question. If they move the cloud

This is a new one to me. Bluebeam 2021.

We received a PDF from an external consultant and we're only seeing their custom markup statuses. None of the statuses loaded into our company profile are visible.

The PDF is NOT in a Studio session where this would be expected behavior, it's a live document on the fileserver.

If I open a new PDF, our custom statuses are available again. I have no way to get our statuses into this consultant's PDF outside of recreating them prior to uploading to the Studio session.

Has anyone seen this before or know of a way to strip out their statuses?

I've been playing MOM since '95, including managing DOSBOX myself so I was able to play for the last several years. I'm no noobie to MOM and was quite happy to see this come across Steam recently, not having been paying attention to gaming news in some time.

However, I'm noticing something "off" about the new version compared to the old. Magic seems less powerful for the user vs. the AI, Heroes are now completely vulnerable at all times, Damage doesn't seem to carry-over at full strength from one figure to the next (Noticeable when I have a 16+ ATK hero who kills only 1 heart of damage on something like a Paladin group.)

Ranged attacks, in particular, seem to suffer from a "Nope you di

So, it's been a minute since I was at the AUGI forums, and being an old man I recalled their salary surveys. Went there today to try and find the latest one, only to discover they haven't run a survey (or at least made it public) since 2020's. No Bueno. (not to mention the forums don't seem lively.)

Where does everyone head to find accurate salary information these days? I find Glassdoor and Salary.com too ineffective because it frequently mixes Data/ IT results into my searches and often misses roles entirely because it relies on job titles rather than duties.

Ed: For clarity - I'm managing these days and want to make sure my folks are fairly compensated. I've been away from the industry

Plenty of folks seem to be on the Enscape bandwagon. Not a fan myself because it encourages some bad workflows in my experiences. (No, you don't need that multi-poly model in the CDs. No I don't care how it looks in the Enscape model.)

With this acquisition, maybe we'll see some better practices like proxy objects in Enscape. Definitely excited to see where they may go with rendering since Vray is such a beautiful engine.

Hey folks. As the show approaches, I started a re-read of the series, and got my wife to read for the first time as well. While she went for the Kindle, I broke-out my original copies.

She's been worried about me reading these, being a Librarian and having a great love for books and preserving them. Particularly if they have meaning to someone, as these do to me.

I'd dismissed it until the other day while reading The Dragon Reborn, she commented on the good condition of the books and again asked why. To dissuade her fears I looked up the value of a few and then realized once again she's right and I shouldn't be. Whoops.

So as I move towards getting a few restored/ rebound and preservin

So I've been mulling this post over for a bit, and while it's not DIRECTLY about Revit, it does impact Revit users so it seems appropriate. The BIM360 question earlier today prompted this.

u/dcmrevit posted:

BIM 360 is part aof a larger network of apps. There's is bim 360 Glue, Docs, cloud. All of which can have different ways of opening up. Bim 360 Glue is just a another viewer.

Yes and no.

"BIM360" is a banding term. It's an umbrella that really meant "anything in the cloud" while also promoting a vision of a Common Data Environment (CDE) for a building. That CDE would keep all info about a building from inception to demolition in one platform. This is a great idea, since we al

Hey folks, I haven't seen a list anywhere so I took the time yesterday to compile the following.

New Family Categories in Revit 2022:

Food Service EquipmentA S M E P I

Medical EquipmentA S M E P I

Temporary StructuresA S M E P I
Vertical CirculationA S M E P I

Yes, for some reason Hardscape is only Arch and not Infrastructure, and yes you can have a Structural Food Service Equipment piece. I expect this to be patched as people change view Disciplines and things don't disappear/ appear as expected.

Vertical Circ and Food Service do get my li
