You and your Samoyeds and family and friends — and “honorary” Samoyeds (i.e. non-Samoyeds) — are invited to participate in PVSC’s 11th AnnualNew Year’s Day Samoyed Flash Mob at the U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree.

Wednesday, January 1st, 2025 @ 11:00 a.m.

All Samoyed enthusiasts are welcome!

After the group photo (around 11:45) some will walk together up the National Mall to the Washington Monument.

Parking around the Capitol Reflecting Pool is free and abundant during the morning on New Year’s Day. Food kiosks along the Mall will be open. The U.S. Botanic Garden close by (south side of the Capitol Reflecting Pool) is free and open for the day and has public restrooms.

I thought I would put this out there because I think many people do not know.

If you are considering a rescue Sam and keep checking around to see if one is available, it is a much better idea to go to a group and put in an application, then when a dog becomes available, you can be all lined up, past approvals, etc. Many rescue Sams don't ever pop up on the site because there is someone 'already waiting.' Scammer warning: activeaustralianshepherds.com is a scam site. Someone on Facebook just sent them money (through Walmart-pay - ooops, probably a red flag there), and now is reporting that the phone number is disconnected. The site is an obvious scam, but may only be obvious if you are already active in purebred dogs/responsible breeders.

What I'd like to train is basically the type of trick where she 1.) picks up an item (ball, tissue, item to put away, 2.) brings it to me or to a receptacle/bin, and 3.) gives it to me/places it somewhere/drops it into box or bin. I know I can break it into all of these steps (it's so many steps!), but I'm still stuck as to where to start. I'm afraid to try to train it and get it wrong and ruin our chances of success. What TYPE of training or TYPE of method would best suit this series of movements? So far I have trained with clicker training and had

This was posted to Facebook today by Vanderbilt Samoyeds. Vanderbilt is a very reputable breeder. Please keep your eyes open for these puppies:

ATTENTION SAMOYED DOG LOVERS IN OR NEAR EASTERN NEWFOUNDLAND. RED FLAG We have reason to believe that there has been illicit/unauthorized breeding of 2 of our SAMOYED dogs in this area in direct violation of our written sales agreements/conditions. These dogs were obtained under fraudulent circumstances and the people involved are guilty of forging a spay certificate for the female dog, and lying about the neutered status of the male dog even though they try to tell people that somehow we were dishonest with them. This is totally untrue an
