The friend I was going to go with is sick, the day I was most excited for is canceled, the weather suggests that it's very possible other days may be canceled, and if I cancel today, I get 50% back from the air bnb, so I decided to call it and stay home.

I know I'm making the correct decision for myself and my circumstances, but I'm obviously super bummed about it. I imagine I'm not alone

To all of you in Ocean City and still traveling there, I bow down. I cannot wait to read the stories of what happens when thousands of humans descend on a beach town in shit weather with so many of our favorite bands. The humanity that will be on display this weekend is going to be incredible.

We're obviously all looking at the weather right now, but I'm curious for folks who live in the area if you have suggestions about how to handle the drive in. Are the roads in ocean city/bridges leading onto the beach going to be open? How would you think about driving in given the storm? Is it safe for someone to do alone?

The friend I was going to go with got sick, so if I go, I'll be driving from New York alone. This will be my third oceans calling and I really don't want to get trapped on a rainy road, because duh.

How are other folks thinking about this?

You saw a future with me that I didn't see. I'm afraid of your baggage. I'm afraid of your debt. I'm afraid of your emotional outbursts. I'm afraid that you're not going to grow into a version of yourself that I'd be proud to introduce to my family. I'm afraid of how much you see me, accept me, and continue to want to be with me.

I'm afraid of you being the person that I choose, because this version of you hasn't grown into a version I'm ready to be proud of. I'm sorry that the version of you from a year ago is all I can remember. I'm sorry I told my friends and family so much about the bad times that now I'm ashamed to tell them the good times that have continued.

I'm sorry that I'm thr

I am moving from LA to NY, and due to the fires, I deferred doing my taxes for 2024 (that were due in April this year). In looking at various posts about documents, I'm seeing lots of folks mentioning tax returns. Is it worth doing my tax returns before they're due just to have the documentation? Or with w2s, paystubs, etc should I be OK? I'll add I work in tech and can demonstrate high salary and liquidity.

Hey folks, I'm gonna be in NY this year for yom kippur and was looking for suggestions for anti/non zionist spaces for kol nidre. I can't be the only person wondering where to go to shul on YK. Do folks have suggestions?

If you have a great space in mind, please add your city and discuss there. let's help those of us looking for IRL yom kippur.
