Hi all

I am hoping to apply to the civil service soon. I have searched public jobs, but I cant seem to find the open competitions. Are they closed? If so where and when do they usually appear or open?

I have a degree and plenty of experience in admin and tertiary education. Would I still be expected to start on the lowest salary? I am finding it hard to find clear information anywhere.

Hi all. I've lived in Dublin on and off for 10 years. I'm looking at finally buying a place. On a scale of 1-10, how bad of an idea is Cherry Orchard? I've found some stories from a few years ago, but nothing recently. It makes it seem like living in anarchy.

We've also looked at Tallaght, which I'm aware is hit and miss.

Are there any areas we're overlooking for about 300K or so?

Hi everyone!

I've recently moved back to Dublin for a job. I know I'm asking for the moon on a stick, but does anyone know anywhere where I can find a room / studio reasonably quickly? I've been spamming Daft, facebook groups and the like, so I am trying everywhere and everything I can.

If you have any tips for how I can improve my odds, or if you happen to know anywhere going, please let me know. I have a couch until August. Beyond that, I'm screwed. This job is a decent opportunity, so I'd hate to lose it over a lack of accomdation. Any and all help appreciated.

General Discussion

Hi all.

I am a very regular smoker. I am looking for some recommendations for an affordable vape for dry flower and occasional hash consumption. I will be using it most days of the week, with regular t-breaks.

I've tried the Flowermate Aura 3 but I have found that it doesnt seem to be effective for me, I've tried all the advice online about hitting it slow for a long time, letting it rest for 30 seconds after it heats up. It doesn

Career question

Hi everyone.

I currently work in Spain as a teacher. This will be my 3rd year here. Im going to stay to complete my C1 and then I might move on. Im not sure yet.

I currently work a job where Im "autonomo". It's not my ideal at all, but it left me with enough time to teach my own students and continue studying. It is, easily, the worst job I've had in Spain, although none of them have been great. I've not signed anything or registered anywhere yet. The job is not what was described and Im working with an age group I specifically asked not to be working with.

My questions are;

1)Are there any jobs in this country that dont involve working with children? It's not something Im comfortable wi

Shane and Rick

Show Spoiler

I'm rewatching season 2 again and I'm finding myself agreeing with Shane more than before.

The example that really sticks out for me was when Shane told Rick that Carl had been messing around in the swamps and had indirectly caused Dale's death.

Surely, the first thing Rick should have done was go and talk to Carl. I know he did in the end, but why was he resistent to it?

I used to think Neil, but he has a penchant for fingering birds in your car and fingering Charlotte. Muff before mates is actually a crime and he's a criminal.

Jay is an asshole but he has some redeeming features. I cant forgive him for ruining the Yellow Peril.

Will is a pretentious twat.

So

I'd say Simon. He's a dork but he's not a bad guy.

Hello all.

I am locked-down in a country with one of the most restrictive anti-covid measures anywhere. Cough Spain Cough.

I have not rolled for months, All thy gyms both weightlifting and MMA are closed for the forseeable. I've spent the last few months feeling sorry for myself and eating like shit.

I decided to make a change yesterday and started following a sprinting programme to get my cardio back and explosivness back and I've started eating plant based food again last week.

Does anyone have any suggestions for what I can do to work out? Sorry to be "this" guy but I dont have access to a pull up bar.

A facist trained today, so did I

Lockdown Blues

General Discussion

I did this last time we were about to be locked down and got a lot of good time wasting material.

So Im back again as my country decides that my blue belt is a dream to be unfulfilled because might die or whatever. (Obvious sarcasm is hopefully obvious)

What podcasts, movies, anime Youtube channels can you recommend to a man who has barely rolled this year but wants to at least keep his finger on the pulse of South Amerian Ground Karate?

Lasti time, Baki was recommended. That was awesome!

I've just finished watching the first season.

I missed a few details, I'm sure but can someone explain how Sucre ended up back in Michael's cell after he got rid of Haywire. The show didn't exactly make it seem like you switch cells back and forth

Hello all.

I have been an ESL teacher for 5 years with a CELTA and an unrelated BA (Applied social studies). I am trying to get onto a PGCE to become a language teacher but I'm coming up against a brick wall. I did not study French in Secondary school, rather German.

At the moment, I am working on my C1 in Spanish and I had intended to move to France and do the same there.

My question is this, do any universities accept this (a c1 qualification) in lieu of having studied French in school? If not, are there any alternatives you can suggest regarding getting a teaching qualification?

Further, backround information: I'm Irish and did all my education in Ireland.
