I love my family, but I feel quite disconnected from them a lot of the time and it makes me feel sad/guilty. They can be very judgemental of other people and overly critical. My parents are pretty negative about a lot of things, and often find something to moan about. They’re not happy/positive people (I know no one is happy all of the time of course). They’re very conservative and don’t like “emotional” people - they have that typical old fashioned view of “stiff upper lip” and just get on with it. They don’t want to talk about how they are feeling, or how I am feeling. I wouldn’t feel comfortable talking about my feelings with them as I would worry they’re judging me. We also have very dif

I’ve only been vegan for 1 year, vegetarian for 2 years prior. I’ve always been a big foodie, but of course since giving up meat the idea of it disgusts me and upsets me after finally opening my eyes and seeing the horrors these poor animals are put through.

All of my family are meat eaters. That’s fine, it’s not like I’ve been vegan very long so I don’t feel I can judge them too harshly. But obviously I wish they would give up meat, especially seeing as they all claim to be animal lovers.

My Nan especially is an animal lover, and talks about how upset she gets when she thinks about the cruelty animals face in this world. She claims to eat “mostly vegetarian” food, but still eats meat ever

For context I live in the UK. I’ve been doing lash extensions for about 2 years now and sadly have never been fully booked. I’ve had busy periods, and I do have my regulars, but I would like to earn more. My partner has said I should train in other beauty treatments like eyebrows and lash lifts so that I can offer more services.

Obviously I know that offering more services would of course increase my revenue and bring in more clients. But the thing is, I don’t think I want to do other services? To be honest, spending all the money on training and equipment is not something I want to do right now. On top of that, I’m just lacking motivation and passion. Eyebrows scare me because I’ve seen s

I’ve made fermented cashew cheese using probiotic capsules and also raw kimchi brine. Both delivered a similar flavour in my opinion (although the kimchi brine really seemed to ferment the cheese much quicker, I noticed a lot more bubbles). My problem is that no matter how many times I try, my cheese seems to have this weird, acidic, slightly sick taste? I want a bit of tang, but not that kind of tang. When I see people say “this is the most delicious cashew cheese! You won’t be able to stop snacking it!” I wonder if I’ve just never tried cashew cheese that good, or if they’re over exaggerating, or we just have different tastes lol. I’ve even tried famous vegan artisan cheeses that people hi

I’m 28F and trying to get hydrated, plump, “glassy” skin. I will say I’m very lucky and rarely breakout (just the occasional spot here and there). I don’t really have any issues with skin texture. My face just looks a little dull, not very hydrated, and maybe my pores are slightly enlarged? I keep my current routine very simple as I do unfortunately have reactive, sensitive skin and very mild rosacea (self-diagnosed).

Current routine:

AM - Rinse face with water > apply “Boots Dermacare daily moisturising cream” mixed with a drop of jojoba oil > P20 sensitive skin SPF 30

PM - Massage face with jojoba oil > wash with The Ordinary foaming cleanser > tretinoin microsphere

What should I add o

Background context: I’m left wing, the rest of my family are right wing. Some more than others. I have had many political arguments with my parents, now I just try to avoid the subject as much possible. I do not live close to my family, and all of my family members are spread around the country (UK) so we don’t all get together regularly anyway.

I was talking to my mum on the phone earlier, and at some point in the convo, the recent family gathering we had was brought up (took place a few months ago). I do have regular contact with my parents and my nan, but have barely any contact with my aunt and cousins. We’re not close and never have been. But my nan guilt tripped us into having a bi

I’ve had lip filler in the past before going vegan, and hadn’t even really considered whether it was vegan or not. However, lately I’ve been debating getting botox and little filler top up. It seems that botox and filler don’t contain any animals products, but are unfortunately tested on animals.

As vegans, I understand we have to accept that sadly most (if not all) medicines have been tested on animals. We of course would not tell someone to avoid taking medicine or getting vaccinated because it isn’t vegan. We still are doing way more than most people by reducing animal suffering as much as possible.

However, obviously filler and botox are not necessary (unless you’re getting it f

Both sound great and are decent value compared to other brands like Omni. Would love to hear what people’s thoughts and experiences are with both brands?

I have been vegan for only 1 year, and was vegetarian for 2 years prior. My partner (30M) and I (25F) have been together for 5 years. We live together, I do 90% of the cooking and to be fair he does eat majority plant-based at home. He enjoys all of my cooking, and will happily eat vegan meals, however he does still occasionally buy himself meat to add to his meals, maybe once every 2 weeks or something. He also sometimes buys bacon to have for breakfast.

We both ate meat when we met, so it would be hypocritical of me to tell him he *must* give up meat now. I do try to educate him on how awful the meat/dairy/egg industry is, and I have tried to make him watch videos that show what really
