I watched a video the other day of a person listing weird questions to ask your partner as they're falling asleep. Lots of funny ones but this was the last one:

You're completely alone but definitely awake. A ladybug (ladybird in the original) starts talking to you. What would it have to say to you to convince you that it wasn't a prank and you're not imagining/hallucinating it?

For the life of me, I can't figure out a good answer. If you ask it a personal question and it gets the answer right, shouldn't it because it lives in your head?

I know it's a light-hearted question but I've been thinking about it off and on for days.

Today is Juneteenth and I keep seeing people trotting out the old chestnut “Well you know, the Republicans are the ones who freed the slaves.” I’m quoting so I didn’t use the more proper “enslaved people”. I’ve tried explaining the Southern Strategy but they keep saying it’s been debunked. Never provide any sources either. Anyway, how do you deal with this? I try to let it go but it’s Juneteenth, I’d like to be able I tried even if it’s arguing with the willingly obtuse.

I feel like I'm going to bring the wrath of the parking gods down by asking this but has anyone noticed people not getting tickets on street cleaning day? My across the street neighbors never move their giant sprinter vans for weeks at a time and I never notice tickets on them. They also use four spaces for two vehicles but that's another rant. My girlfriend has been late moving her car a bunch but the last ticket she got was over a year ago.

I just went to a wedding and was reminded of the phrase, "Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, a sixpence in your shoe". I know that phrase came to the US from England but I'm wondering if the bride (or groom for that matter) carries something special or superstitious in your country.

I was just reading a post about a woman who only got three days of leave when her stepfather died. I was curious as to what it's like in your country.

FWIW, when my mother died, my boss told me to take all the time off I needed.

Cleaning services in Hollywood

Advice/Recommendations

Hi all, looking for a cleaning service for my 2 bed, 2 bath apartment in Hollywood. Nothing too strenuous, just too busy to keep on top of everything. I would really love a company that doesn't screw over their workers. Thanks in advance.

I want to say I read this in the late 1990s/early 2000s. It's about a group of women (?) who kidnap someone (possibly a judge or Supreme Court justice) and implant an embryo (and possibly a real or artificial uterus) in him. They did this to protest anti abortion rulings.

I read this in the early 2000s (may have been late 90s). It was about a thief who could control the weight or density of his body. I THINK that a lot of people in this world had some sort of magic but that it could be stolen from them. The thief may have been LGBT but I may be confusing it with the Nightrunner series. Thanks in advance.
