I’m looking for picture or board books that feature main characters with specific names. I’m looking for a May, an Annie, and a Mackenzie. Any ideas?

It’s been a few years since I’ve been - anyone know if there are any non-alcoholic beers, and if so, where? Help a pregnant lady out!
I’ve been using Blueland for a few years and really like their hand soaps, but have yet to find a good pump that fits their glass bottles. I repurposed some old Bath and Body Works pumps but they’re starting to not work. Anyone know of a good alternative? Or has Blueland improved their pumps any? It’s been a couple of years since I used the ones that came with the bottles but I was disappointed in how quickly they broke.
Anyone encountered a place with a good selection of mocktails or non-alcoholic drinks? Not currently drinking but I’d like to still enjoy some fun beverages while I’m on vacation! I’ve noticed more non-alcoholic drinks on menus in general, but haven’t seen many in OC. Maybe they just aren’t posted on online menus.
My LO is 13 months and just got some new extra-sharp top teeth. She bit me (accidentally) while nursing about a week ago and there’s a gash on my nip. This fucker will not heal and it’s excruciating. We’re down to either 3 feeds a day or 2 feeds + a short pump as I’m trying to wean from pumping at work. I’ve tried leaving it alone, liquid bandage, lanolin cream, and I’m now trying those Lanisoh gel pads.
Is there anything else I can do?! I just pumped and the cut was bleeding again when I finished, and that was after 7 minutes on a low level while holding the flange to minimize discomfort. Watching that cut open and close as the pump worked was….not my favorite.
This will be our first trip with a kiddo! Our tiny human loves the water but is still really small, so I would love to find a place that has somewhere to splash around in! I saw that the Holiday Inn on 66th/67th had a small splash pad but it looks like they got rid of it as part of their pool upgrade.
We use pocket diapers and our kiddo keeps having blowouts at daycare. Since I'm not there, I can't see exactly where/how the blowout occurs, but she's been growing like a weed lately (will be 4 months in a few days), so maybe the fit isn't quite right or there's compression from her onesies, or maybe she's just going through a stage of voluminous poops. So I'm just wondering, does anyone have any general tips for preventing blowouts in cloth? Any aspects of the fit that I should be paying extra close attention to?
Just curious - anyone know what’s up with the old Meadow Mill Athletic Club building? I can’t tell if they’re tearing it down or just doing major construction.
I had a painful latch with a nipple shield during a night feed a couple of nights ago (I was engorged and tired so just went with it - lesson learned!). The next day, my nip was sore, and starting early this morning, I’ve had intermittent stabbing pains in that breast. No lumps, no redness, milk is flowing fine - I think it’s just injured. Any tips for how to heal this quickly and reduce discomfort while it heals?
This has been my final motivation to ditch the shield and we’re making good progress, but in the meantime, this is really annoying!
Hi all! I’m trying to find a stroller that can handle rough terrain but will also work for babies under 6 months. I didn’t realize this was a thing until I saw a Baby Trend Expedition jogging stroller at Target that comes with an infant seat, but it doesn’t look like it’s compatible with other brands of infant seat (we have a Chicco KeyFit) and I don’t necessarily want to spend money on another infant car seat just to use it for the stroller. Anyone have any ideas? I don’t plan to actually jog with the baby until she can sit up well, but I want to take her for walks on a nearby gravel trail and also to the Renaissance festival, which has some hills and dirt paths - our regular travel syst
I was newly pregnant and in the throes of morning sickness for last year’s faire, so I’m very excited to eat, drink, and be merry this year! However our baby will probably still be a bit too small for a jogging stroller and I’m not sure our regular stroller (a Chicco Bravo) will be able to handle the paths. I have a baby wearing wrap but am a little concerned that we’ll all overheat! Has anyone else successfully taken a little one (under 6 months old) to the faire, and if so, any tips?
My little one will be 2 weeks old tomorrow and for the most part, she’s been nursing like a champ!
I have kind of flat nipples and very dense breast tissue, so I was given a nipple shield while in the hospital. My baby has a very strong suck, so it’s starting to get really painful to nurse with the shield (she actually pulls part of my nipple through the little holes in the shield), but we’re struggling to latch at all without it. I just ordered one of those nipple everters and it should be here on Thursday, but does anyone else have any tips or advice?
I guess I just need to rant to people who understand. I’m on a training grant so I get what the NIH says I get. I was so hopeful that they would increase the minimums again this year, but it looks like that’s not going to happen. My heating bill is more than double what it was last year, food costs are through the roof, my first baby is coming in a couple of months, and the icing on the cake (or maybe the straw that broke the camel’s back?) - I got an epic flat tire on my way to work this morning, so an unexpected car repair bill on top of everything else.
I feel like I’m too old to be this broke, and almost the entirety of my postdoc has been during COVID, so I’m not even getting the
This is maybe a silly question, but my first is due in May and I truly have no clue...what do you all do while breastfeeding? I've seen a lot of mentions of scrolling Reddit, someone recently mentioned using a Kindle, and I've also heard from a lot of moms who catch up on Netflix while they feed their little ones, but I'm not sure I understand the mechanics of it all, especially since I've also heard about dads/partners spoon-feeding mom while she feeds the baby. Do you have a free hand? No free hands? Does it depend on your positioning and your pillow/support? Do tiny babies need more hands-on help than older kiddos?
