Would you like to see a weekly discussion thread? In my head, it would serve a few functions:
- A "safe space" for constructive criticism and debate of any aspect of the Stellar network.
- A place to ask questions and get a balanced and (hopefully) non-biased discussion/answer.
- To keep "negativity" away from the daily chats and other threads.

I want to build a Stellar tip bot which would be capable of sending tips in XLM and other Stellar assets. For instance, tipping someone in SLT via a comment could look like so:
+1.0 SLT [u/someTipBot](/u/someTipBot)
However, the bot would require a fair amount of work and might be fairly costly to run and keep secure, and there's no point in running one if no-one wants it.
The benefits of having a tip bot running that could trade on the SDEX are plentiful:
- Could operate in every subreddit, not just r/Stellar, and thus spread awareness.
- By tipping in SLT, MOBI or some other asset, the bot would trade on the SDEX in order to tip that asset, thus adding liquidity to the network.
- It could be used to
I'm persistently getting this error in the Ledger Manager desktop app:
Unable to install application. If the problem persists, contact Ledger support.
The error presents itself on every item in the store, whether I try to delete or install, nothing works.
I have access to the wallets I have installed already, nothing seems to be wrong there.
I'm using the latest firmware and software versions, tried starting the machine, checked internet connections, all of the usual stuff. Any suggestions?

I posted to r/Stellar for the first time a few weeks ago looking for something to contribute to from a development POV.
If you are in need of some with Python/R/database skills then please DM me. Happy to volunteer some free hours to keep my wits sharp. :)
I recently made an R package to interact with the Horizon API, the project can be found here, along with some of my other projects if you need a frame of reference.

Now I have to resume my original space, but it's super cramped and awkward, all so that you can save 0.24s of time.
Prick.
I originally posted this in another thread, but I think it warrants its own discussion.
Not to be that guy (I'm long on XRP and I honestly think I know more about the technical details than most) but I was seriously hoping to see a bit more detail with the statistics presented.
We've simply been given a range of 40-70% savings and people are going nuts, but this confirms what we already knew/trusted from the cost model paper published a long time ago.
I understand the nature of NDAs and revealing information that may reveal what a company is trying to do, but surely Ripple could've told us about the number of transactions un
Hi!
I'm long on XLM and XRP and I am been a business intelligence developer turned software engineer for all of three years now. I finally feel confident enough to start thinking about tinkering around with the Stellar SDKs and try building some apps or even possibly building a wallet (I'm not platform-specific.) I write with Python, R, Java and a bit of Go.
I'm interested to know a few things:
- What proportion of the community here are developers, and also developing apps on top of the Stellar network?
- I am very wary/paranoid of the issue of securing any apps I build here. Does anyone have any suggested reading for best practices around handling private keys, signing transactions et
