Playing Stalker 2. Preset L looks terrible compared to default preset K the game comes with running DLAA. It isn't even close the shimmering on trees and break up is atrocious.

Preset L runs worse and looks worse than game default K.

To those running around everywhere saying L looks best, no it does not, only on average, and for a signficant performance cost.

BF6 also looks worse with overriden presets vs running base 4.5 that ships with the game. When you override a newer 4.5 model it looks worse. Weapon texture details and tons of objects are blurry.

The assumption that the most updated preset is best is just not true and doesn't hold up to basic A-B testing in plenty of titles.

I see this has been modded to work, but I've been reading feedback and experiences about performance and the numbers don't seem to add up for me.

For example:

*Works great on stalker 2 on 4090

No fg = 170 fps

4x= 290 fps

6x=370 fps

Feels fine looks fine with dlss quality and dlaa*

This is not working well at all. The performance cost here is absolutely insane and not *working great*. This received number of up votes as well.

Do 40 series owners just think this is normal because of no prior experience? Are latency values actually in check?

I see stuff like this (and other posts) and I get the sense it has a rather prohibitive performance cost that is actually nothing like Blackw

This post will be short, but as an experienced Engineer, air is too problematic. I understand the skill ceiling is basically unlimited, but I disagree that it should be. Flare deployment times need to be longer. Tanks are underpowered, straight up. They need more armour, and rear hits need to do less. Engineers need less ground rockets, as well, but allow faster ammo replenishment to make pairing more powerful.

But yeah, air needs either to have limited flares, either in count or cool down, I don't care how it's done. Even with the AA vehicle, air can tank missiles and full-on barrages, then go on to pop multiple flares. Tanks are easy and fragile in comparison.

I think there's a prevalent misconception that the solution to VRR flicker is to turn off VRR.

This is a terrible idea and completely unnecessary. If you don't think it's a terrible idea, you don't understand the benefits of VRR. The downsides are large and (almost) never worth it.

All you have to do is use your GPU drivers or an app like Rivatuner Statistics Server to frame limit.

You need to frame limit to a range close to the average of the game experiencing the flicker, as well as not too far from the reported 1% lows.

If you follow this, you will not have flicker in games.

Stop recommending people disable VRR, especially on PC where a two second fix is readily available.

I am browsing recent Steam reviews and I am baffled by what I see. People say the game looks worse than BF3 and has no weapon attachments?

I struggle to see genuine criticisms outside of not enjoying the "hero" class system.

I guess the point of this post is for me to understand the hate for this title in its current state, not when it launched.

I've been a long time fan on PC and I've spent a lot of time in every one of the games people reference.

As an "engineer" player I'm struggling to understand how BF2042 lacks. The vehicle combat, for me, is a cut above every other title in the series. The visual and sound design is great.

I can see some hate for some levels, the weird teal

I think I'm at the final boss. I've received a total of 4 or maybe 5 bandages maximum the entire DLC. I understand it's supposed to push me more, but I have piles of ammo and no health. The RNG of the pickups has put me in a very tough spot with the final boss. I have a third of my health and one bandage to pick up during the fight.

Kind of annoying.

Hey everyone,

I've been using a pair of Razer Opus' for a few years now. I picked them up on discount from an outlet for 150CAD each awhile back. I use two because I keep one for work and one for home, but over time both sets are in varying degrees of wear that are frankly too much.

With no easy ear cup replacements, are there any good ANC Bluetooth headphones with good construction I can buy to replace these two sets of cans for a fair price?

Should I just replace these with the same ones? I enjoy proper ANC and these delivered that on a budget. I've been out of the loop for awhile and was hoping someone could help speed up the process so I can get back to enjoying good ANC on the go.

I have a new OLED that came with a dark patch the size of a nickel. Luckily pixel cleaning resolved it. It reappears after having the monitor off for a day or so but it's not nearly as deep and will fade within a minute or two.

What is weird is that the patch contains what looks like semi dead sub pixels. They're very faint and only noticeable on full white. One seems totally dead, but yet on a full colour background (and I've tested quite a few colours using a YouTube video fullscreened), the subtle cluster of slightly discoloured pixels present on pure white dissappear, even the apparently dead one.

You have to zoom in to see them more clearly.

I have a 5600 now and am running tight timing 3200 CL14 with tuned subtimings because it's the easiest to get verified stable with Karhu mem test for hours.

Thing is, I really think I'd be better off with looser timings at 3600 for the 1800MHz fabric clock.

Anyone willing to point me in the direction of maybe RAM timings tables I can emulate to get this old B-die stable at higher clocks? This B-die is from maybe 3-4 years ago and cost a fortune back then -Trident Z brand.

Thanks guys

I cloned my main OS drive from one SSD to another. I bought a PCI-E expansion card. The drive in the M.2 was cloned to the new drive stationed in the expansion card. Once cloning was complete I powered down and swapped the drives, as I am unable to boot from PCI-E and I'd rather have my OS drive on the motherboard M.2.

The cloned drive is working as intended. I did have to merge some partitions, though.

My E and G drives are gone. Both contained games, software and general storage. They are SATA drives, plugged in via SATA cables.

Disk Management doesn't show them either. It's so confusing. I'm fairly certain the BIOS isn't showing them either.
