So I'm pretty new to an AV design role and I'm having trouble conceptualizing how to design AV systems for different UC platforms (teams, zoom, etc). Are there any resources (youtube videos, manufacturer videos, trainings, etc.) that anyone can direct me to that can help teach me in this portion of the field, or give me a good starting basis? With all of the different nuances between the things you can and can't due between platforms, and gear specific stuff, my brain just checks out. So anything that can help me with the design processes would be very grateful.

Thank you

My family and I are going to Jim Thorpe this weekend for the LGSR Easter Bunny round trip train ride. We purchased the tickets to sit in the dome car, but was curious if the seats/booths are numbered or assigned? That car is a double-decker but do my tickets guarantee me seats on the top floor or is everything first come first serve? And if the latter, how early do I need to arrive to ensure a good seat?

Thanks in advance for any answers/advice.

Hey all, I just recently bought my first curved ultrawide, MSI MPG491CQP. I love the monitor but have been experiencing an issue where the video input seems to "disconnect". Basically the screen goes black for a few moments and then comes back on... or doesn't come back at all and I either need to disconnect/reconnect the HDMI cable or just disconnect/reconnect the dock from my laptop all together to get it to come back on. Any thoughts on why it would do this and how to stop it from happening?

My set up is as follows -

Microsoft Surface 5180 laptop > HP G4 280W thunderbolt dock (thunderbolt cable providing both power/data/video connection to laptop) > HDMI connection from dock

40yo Just had my subinguinal varicocelectomy this past Wednesday. Had a grade 3 on both sides and had them both taken care of.

Going through the recovery process now. I have a two, 1 inch incisions that look gnarly. My scrotum looks like a massive grapefruit.

So far, most of the pain is at the incision sites, but my testicles do feel very achy and sensitive. I expected this, especially only being 4 days removed from surgery, but it feels almost no different than before surgery which worries me a little. Originally during my consults, my surgeon had said that there would be roughly a 75% chance that I would feel less/no pain after the surgery. But after the surgery when they came by a

How is everyone getting snapshots of their cars up here. I’m playing on a PS2. What am I missing to do this?

So I (40) have very large varicoceles on both sides. After consulting with my doctor, I will be getting a subinguinal varicocelectomy in a couple of months on both sides. My testosterone numbers are in the good range (low side of good), I'm done having kids (we have 2 and my wife and I didn't have any issues trying to get pregnant). This surgery is solely for pain management. I've had these for as long as I could remember and it feels like I constantly have varying degrees of blue balls.

I'm pretty excited to get this pain under control, but I am nervous about the pain not going away or just only minimally. Has anyone here had varicoceles on both sides and have had them taken care of?

So I posted here back in January that my J2 had reached out to my J1 for potential subcontracting work. I was worried for obvious reasons that I was going to get caught by one, if not both, jobs. I ended up quitting J2 in order to preserve J1 recently (March) so now I'm back down to one job.

I've been hunting around for a second job and wanted to know what the threads' thoughts are on putting my old J2 on my resume. Should I do it and change the dates around to show I wasn't working 2 jobs at once? Should I put in on the resume to show more work experience? Do I not add it at all? Not sure the best course of action here.

So I haven’t been doing OE very long, literally on my 3rd month. But something I’ve been worried about happening has finally happened. Both of my Js are in the same tech industry, just different parts of it. J1 is a subcontractor and my J2 is an integrator. And as of last week, my J2 has subcontracted my J1 for a project. It isn’t confirmed yet but I’m 98% positive J1 is going to assign the project to me. I feel like I have to quit J2. J2 pays me a bit more, but I absolutely love my J1 and don’t want to leave. So how do I quit a job I’ve just had for 3 months? Clearly there is going to be some feelings and disappointments from J2 and it’s for sure going to come as a shock and surpris

My J2 is far more demanding than how the job was pitched to me. Their timelines are unreasonable and they are starting to seriously interfere with my J1.

Has anyone had a similar experience and have just straight up quit? Like on the spot, or given their 2 weeks? I’m trying to navigate the best course here. I’m not the type of person to “burn” bridges, but if I ever left J2 I never intend on going back anyway, so not really sure how to play it.

So I wanted to set up a KVM switch for my personal PC, gaming PC, and WFH computer. My biggest question is in doing this, assuming all of the computers are on, will the two computers that are in use go into sleep mode? Pretty much want to know if I switch to my personal PC for a period of time, will my work computer go into sleep mode or will Teams show me as away? Or does each computer still recognize the mouse/keyboard activity despite not being the computer used at the moment?

As far as recommendations go, I'm really just looking for a good starting point of brands to check out. I've been looking around and there are just a TON of options out and its a little overwhelming honestly

This is probably an insane question.. but does anyone know if a WFH job exists that is 40hrs/w but the work itself is easy enough where it’s more like 20-25hrs/w? Is a job like that real? I guess it really depends on the work load, but I’ve seen so many posts on different sites from people who brag about their job being “so easy” that they only spend about half their day working. Not sure how real that is but I’m sure there are some jobs out there like that.
