I very recently finished the book, which gives me an interesting perspective at this point in the show and I wanted to get some other book readers to chime in with their thoughts.

First of all, I found it interesting that Bret's meeting with Abigail came off as a true warning about Robert on her part. In the book, she seems weary, but very assertive that Robert needs some grace. While she seems suspicious of him, her primary goal of the meeting was essentially to tell Bret that Robert is sensitive and could not have done the things Bret thinks he has. The show Abigail clearly thinks Robert is not to be trusted.

I also thought since we had not seen Bret and Terry together at the Beverly Hil

Tell me about your nightmare clients

SHARING: Stories :snoo_tableflip:

Feeling particularly annoyed at the moment with the worst client I have ever had to deal with. First of all, I inherited this guy. No chance to sniff out the crazy, just gifted to me out of what I can only chalk up to be bad karma or something. He's pushy, constantly has something to complain about, thinks I can make things appear out of thin air, lies to me, is a few short in the braincell department, and has no respect for my time. About once a month, he calls me to complain about the bill (that he racked up by calling me every time a thought whizzed by his singular braincell or even better, showing up at the office with no notice or appointment). My favorite part is that he will ignore my

This also applies to 9-10 pm text messages and calls. Sometimes its questions from people I do actually rep, and other times, its just people wanting to pick my brain about something. Its not like I would rather answer a million text questions from them while I am trying to tend to my files when I'm at my office either, especially if its just a random inquiry about something I know nothing about. How do I solve this problem without needing to put a post-it on my forehead that says I'm closed for business at family functions?

Single lawyers, what's your love life like?

Kindness & Support :snoo_hearteyes:

I'm just curious what it's like for anyone else out there. I'm a 27 yr old woman and I'm single. Most of the time, I don't feel like I have the mental capacity to date or even think about dating. When I come home at the end of the day, I usually just want to enjoy being at home in the house I live in by myself. I do eventually want to meet someone, but I have no idea what that would even look like for me at this point. I spend a lot of time exhausting myself with work and I feel like I never have time for me as is, so how am I supposed to meet someone or figure out how to fit them into my life? I do get lonely, but I also keep some causal options around. I feel like I only have the capacity

Struggling to feel like part of the team

Kindness & Support :snoo_hearteyes:

Hey guys. I got licensed this year and I, like most other new attorneys, experienced some culture shock when I first started practicing. I am at a tiny smalltown firm and I am having trouble finding my niche/feeling like part of the team. My firm is rather type b, which is one of the things that I like about it, but also one of the things that drives me nuts. We tend to have some communication issues, which is surprising considering how small we are, but nonetheless, I would say that is the root problem of many others. They have a tendency to drag their feet on many of the things required of them to have a new attorney. I recognize that most of this comes from the end of the year chaos and

I took a job contingent on passing the bar, which I did, but I started before I got my results. I, like every other self-hating member of this profession, was too afraid to decorate my office until I knew for sure that I had passed. Now its time for me to decorate this bitch. I have added one singular fake plant, a few vases, and a lamp. What else do you guys have on your shelves? Where do you like to shop for your office decor? I really like to lean into the mid-century modern type vibe, but I seem to have absolutely no idea how to decorate my office in like fashion. I have a rather large built-in shelf and suffice to say, the 4 objects I just added are not doin much. TLDR, wtf is on your s

I am so appreciative of this community! I found so much comfort in so many of your stories and I wanted to share mine before I go.

I want to a T-4 law school, was a very mid law student, and I found bar prep to be pretty terrible for me. I had a really hard time gaining any confidence going into the exam, since my scores were all over the place and I went rogue on Barbri more than once. I left one MEE mostly blank, but was hoping the MBE would carry me. Turns out, written score was significantly higher than my MBE and I scored high enough to practice in any jx.

In the recent weeks, I would have told you my odds were 50/50. I had no idea how to feel about it and honestly most of my thought

What would you do?

🇵🇸 🕊️ Omens, Signs, and Spirits

Hello friends. I am writing because I recently moved into a house that I suspect the previous owner still inhabits. I know a little bit about the house and the couple that built it, and I can say with confidence that I believe the sweet old lady hangs around with me. And I love her! She feels very kind and inviting to me. The house has fabulous energy. Things do go bump in the night, but I really do not mind. It's never anything major, just a creek or a clack here and there. Last night though, oddly, I was sound asleep when the covering for the blinds on the window behind me fell on my pillow. It scared the shit out of me and also shocked me that it missed my head. Now, I know that this prob

Is anyone having a really difficult time knowing that you know nothing, but also trying to prove yourself to your new place of work? Like, I am fully aware of the things I do not know, but I also want to be helpful in some way. So, I'm like trying to find this weird balance between knowing I'm a noob and wanting to learn, but also trying to be helpful without coming across as an idiot who knows nothing.

why do i see older attorneys/attorneys who took the bar exam a number of years ago acting as if cardiac arrest during the bar exam is just par for the course? why are we okay with advocating for our client's negligence suit worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, but not for the humane treatment of our peers/ourselves? when is it truly time enough to put the microscope on our own profession, that is asked everyday to zealously advocate for the rights of others, and stop the normalization of ridiculous pressure-induced emergencies brought on by the bar exam or even worse, the day-to-day of being an attorney? i have wished for nothing but to be a licensed attorney since i set out on this quest

as an alum of a school with one of the most abysmal first time passage rates on earth, barbri is included in our tuition. that said, i'm fairly certain i am the exact opposite of whoever barbri is supposed to work for. i am a crammer. i have been spending time outside of barbri doing other things, but i cannot get over the feeling that going through barbri is a complete and utter waste of my time. i did not read or pay attention for the majority of my law school education. i crammed for everg exam in 2-3 days. now, i know this is not possible for the bar exam. however, my learning style is NOT whatever barbri is. with about a month to go and 200 hours in, im wondering if it is officially tim

Anyone know any great/quick materials for commercial law? I am teaching myself the entire class and I have been successful in doing this when using the 'short and happy guides' for crash courses. Barbri is also decent. The only issue here is both of those two avenues only have books/courses for secured transactions, which is only some of the content of the course. Anything helps!!!
