I don't understand why this restriction is in place for this game mode, would it be unbalanced?

I am a new player and I got immediately hooked in the Adventure Mode. Midway through the game I wanted to try the professions I had not the chance to unlock yet and decided to get AoD for the relics mode. I am having an absolute blast trying to figure out progression with the level restrictions and playing the dungeons at an appropriate challenge level. However, most masteries and even some pieces of gear feel extremely unrewarding, especially mining and smithing, and I don't quite understand why the game mode was designed with those restrictions in place. Do you have any guess?

All professions yield something valuable to other episodes, be it money, weapons, or consumables. The current combat design present us with a trade: the player freezes their combat progression in a given episode, bank their gear and, in exchange, they get to start again and confront a new set of creatures in a new environment. This tradeoff do not scale across episodes and it is not rewarding enough, but merging combat professions is not a solution to this problem necessairly.

We need a deeper combat system that provides us goals other than acquiring a new level, one that makes us strategize about how to achieve these new combat goals. We need creatures we can't defeat efficiently without f

The latest diacussion on combat merge brought to surface the topic of advancement trees, or skill trees. Do we need them?

I think adding a skill tree to a crafting game is kind of losing an opportunity to expand the crafting system with rich interactions to other professions.

Yes, you can grind a few levels and select an icon that awards you with +2 fire resistance. You could also hunt goblins in Hopefort to find a rare resource, say "goblin band", to use with another profession, say leatherworking, to create a chestpiece enchantment, say "goblin signet", and achieve the same goal. Basically the same system but the player choses the bonus by selecting an activity that award an upgrade rath

Deathstone

Question

Any guesses why the developers included a resource like this? Would you like to see more ore/stones that require explosives?

I hate it so much I am levelling stonemason 28-38 with KP. If only one could plant explosives on multiple nodes, or even queue these...

TL;DR. My enthusiasm towards Brighter Shores is dimming as I realize the game does not present me with fun problems to solve during active play sessions. The fun bits of the game are in planning your goals, but once you decide what to do, there isn't much to engage with for hours.

I find the Brighter Shores gameplay to be predictable and satisfying but not engaging. The activities require little planning and there is no room for player input. For gathering, the player decides what to gather and how much of it. For crafting, the player decides between buying resources or using the ones they have. For combat, the player picks an enemy and equips their best gear have against the foe. The rest

My players travelled far and wide through Middle-Earth using the The One Ring system and shall soon revisit it with Legends in the Mist - care to see the two character sheets? I am curious to read what you feel like sharing.

Drugo, the Mountain Dwarf

A dwarven emissary leaves the mountain homes in their first mission but is caught in an adventure they were not expecting.

Born in the mountain homes

Origin, People

The mountain homes are said to be nothing more than dark caverns high in the mountains where greedy dwarven folk live. How will you prove them wrong?

Hello, I am looking to hear what kind of character you think would be interesting to see portrayed in a short Ironsworn series.

I made a gameplay video sometime ago and felt excited to do more, a short series comprising one formidable quest and a few side quests. I always play gritty hunter/tracker, or war veteran, archetypes but would like to see what other fellow players are most interested in.

Let me know what you think!

I don't know how it would affect game balance, but using the shared cooldown for mana feels underwhelming (my experience at level 30).

I tried using mana potions to cast 1 or 2 healing spell between two AoE pulls in quick sucession. However, the burst healing of a health potion feels much more useful than mana potions. I don't have mana problems when not using healing spells, so I cannot picture a good use case for a mana potion besides being a dedicated group healer (perhaps?).

Would the game break if those would be on a shared cooldown? What do you think?

Witness my terrible die rolls as I am forced to adopt a fail forward mentality to get anywhere in this 20min video of actual play and dark mythic storytelling using the Ironsworn system (rules are briefed for everyone at each roll).

Disclaimer: I cannot create this narrative on the spot, the story/decisions were glanced over during gameplay/recording and refined during edit to create the video (thought it would be just to say so).

Hi,
I am sharing with you a video I made after a solo session where I tackle a troublesome scene challenge. I think it shows the brutal nature of the Ironsworn mechanics, as I had matches, misses, and terrible fate outcomes but managed to police myself as to not over penalize my character.

It is a 20min video where the hero, Nameless (called so for a good reason), tracks a fell creature into wild lands but has his progress undermined by the dark mythical nature of the Ironlands. If you like Tolkien or the King Killer Chronicles, please consider taking a look at it :)

Hello,

I want to simulate an application over Linux using Spike, but I have no idea how.

My application uses just-in-time code generation and does not work with the spike proxy kernel. The simulation crashes as soon as the program enters the functions generated dynamically. I have no problems running the application on an RISCV processor running Linux. Moreover, I wanted to try it using Spike + Linux.

The problem is that I do not know where to begin. I have a kernel cross-compiled with the same compiler I use for the application. How can I connect the pieces together in Spike? Simply executing the kernel and the application with `spike --kernel path/to/linux/arch/riscv/b

Does anyone have some pointers to share about this?
It uses a Just in Time Assembler). Spike crashes upon accessing these memory regions under the proxy kernel. I want to try Spike with a Linux kernel, but I need to figure out how this works.
So far, I have cross-compiled the Linux kernel with riscv64-linux-gnu, the same compiler I use for the application. Nonetheless, I get the "Access exception occurred while loading payload" error whenever I launch Spike with the kernel image.

Do you happen to have some pointers to share about this?
