I should probably mention that I don't have any mods. I looted all the major stuff (made sure to disable the pressure plates first), killed Haarlep, killed the monsters around Hope, always wore my disguise clothes, and avoided grabbing the hammer. When I discovered the faucets, I was looking forward to experimenting with summons and buffs for a while, but after going to a few other places, I tried going in and out a couple more times and my disguise clothes disappeared (if I tried to use the extras I'd put in storage, they instantly incinerated), plus when I went back the whole place was already on alert even though they hadn't seen me yet and everything had been fine before I left.

I got an Aqua Fizz at the end of last year and sometimes the nozzle seems too low to clear the top of the carafe when you tilt it into place, so I have to yank it up to be able to use the machine. Seems like it naturally goes down while the CO2 is being released (I assume that's normal), but maybe it doesn't always spring back up all the way? I'm worried this means the mechanism holding it will eventually wear out. I've noticed it can get worse if I press the button with no carafe/water in place, but maybe it's supposed to bounce off the water.

I've seen a few posts concerned about using things like achievements and cloud saves during offline play, but what about being able to play your games at all when they have updates available? Currently, playing games in this state seems to require a workaround of some kind, but this would be a hassle on the Deck as you'd have to regularly mess around outside of the new Big Picture/Steam Deck UI. You could try to keep your Deck offline as much as possible, but for example if you have it connected at home for one game, then suddenly leave with it, Steam might notice another one needs updating just before you disconnect. Or you might even be online via your phone, playing a low bandwidth onl

I've noticed that when I lock the screen, after the fingerprint prompt fades away there is a faint white flash across the screen once or twice. I can't see it when there's ambient lighting and I'm not sure if it's due to the brightness sensor or just the limits of my vision.

Edit: It seems like it happens twice if I have the fingerprint reader enabled, but only once if I don't.

[Spoilers All] Please no extra book spoilers beyond what I'm asking (I haven't read past the end of the show), but after seeing the season 3 finale, I'm wondering, are any exoplanets featured in the books based on real ones we've measured with, say, Kepler? Considering how many real astronomical observations are incorporated into the stuff that takes place in our solar system, I'd be surprised if extrasolar planet observations didn't show up too. Then again, I understand that the current observations are pretty fuzzy and the planets' orbits have to be viewed edge on anyway.

I got a 4670k ages ago when I did this build https://old.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/1r3uv9/build_ready_first_build_since_i_was_a_kid/, but I'm looking to swap it out for something that has VT-d and upgrade the performance while I'm at it. I've never used hardwareswap before, but I don't want to actually trade in my 4670k while I'm still using it as my daily driver unless someone has a really good offer (and I don't expect that a person selling a 4790k would necessarily want it).

I was installing a custom cooler on a stock r9 290, but one of the screws was too tight so I had to drill through it. In so doing, one of the drill bits broke off and damaged a component (at least one). Since I know where the damage occurred, I'm wondering if I can fix it with a replacement: https://imgur.com/a/uJDmj Can anyone identify the component(s) and advise me about soldering in a replacement? Edit: Slightly better closeup

My reference 290 stock cooler is pretty loud these days (started mining a little with it last year since my newer/primary card is Nvidia) and recently I've noticed some squeaking that may be from a case fan, but may also be from the 290 stock cooler. I've read that universal adapters are a bad idea for this card as the VRMs or at least the RAM can overheat, but I can't seem to find full cover blocks around. Does anyone know where to find them? Or have any other advice about cooling this thing?

Edit: The squeaking is from a wobbly 1070 fan, but I may be able to just RMA that, and the 290 stock fans are still normally very loud.

I'm using ethminer on Windows 10, and while I can't see the locally reported hashrates while I'm away from my PC and the monitors are off (I'm also not getting hashrate logs from ethminer, but I imagine that's an unrelated issue), the pool I'm mining to seems to consistently report the hashrate dropping a lot when I'm not using the PC. Could Windows be doing something to lower the GPU clocks, overriding afterburner? Also, is there a fix to get the logs to show up so I can check the locally reported rates against the graph from the pool?
