I'm confused about the scenes with Orus Blade. Our heroes have already recovered his company's blank spell glyphs that were stolen, and even leave one as a coaster to clue him in. He sees it and remarks essentially "you guys are deeper in this than me". And then at his facility the PCs ask him questions about how much material he has left (none), how he plans to stay in business (sell directly to the Chamber of Lords Advisory), and how much they could sell his own enchanted gems for.

Why are they not giving this guy his own stolen goods back? And why doesn't he ask them to, now that he knows they recovered them? He's clearly desperate, and seems like someone who would be a phenomenal ally/

In episode 8, why was Beau announced at the party with her real identity?

  • The entire reason Beau and Jester swapped roles was because "if someone at the party might recognize you, you can't go". And the Lionett name drew instant recognition
  • She gives a fake name to Astrid, which should not have worked since she was just announced with a different name

So, given that the party (and the audience) had already gotten the reveal of her name and status in an earlier scene, why have Fjord use her real name at all? It seems like it would undermine their attempted infiltration.

Before I begin, I want to acknowledge 2 things:

  • I understand that this campaign was designed to be deadly and unforgiving, both in setting and gameplay
  • I recognize that just because I wouldn't enjoy the way one tables plays, that doesn't mean they are playing "wrong"

Having said that, I'm still confused why Matt isn't using virtually any non-combat GM moves on his spotlight whenever a battle map comes out. With 7 PCs and often only 1 or 2 powerful enemies, the action economy is completely out of whack. I'm halfway through episode 6 and here are some rolls the PCs made in this fight:

  • Trying to climb a wall
  • Trying to jump onto a cage
  • Trying to free someone from said cage

First time listener here, still way behind but catching up when I can. Obviously I'm in awe of Brennan-as-Steel's incredible nesting doll of secret plans for Suvi at the coven and its creative use of magic. But I love the extra little RP moment at the end where Suvi repeats her throwaway comment about Steel looking comfortable on her balcony. Just the awareness from Aabria to realize "this was the first thing Suvi thought to say earlier, and since she doesn't remember having already said it, of course she would say it again" is brilliant. Yet another reminder of how good these performers are and how much thought goes into every moment. I love it!

I've put 44 hours into this game so far, and I'm really enjoying it. But in that time I've successfully finished 3 runs out of 40, and only made it to the heart once, where I was hopelessly outmatched. I haven't even bothered with Ascensions yet.

I see people here saying that a no-Ascension run is practically an auto-win for them barring terrible luck. So am I just bad at the game? That's not a deal-breaker, I'm still having fun, I just might not fully grasp the mechanics yet or understand the best cards/relics to choose for my current run.

FWIW I have 1 unlock remaining on everyone except the Watcher, who still has 3.

I know her fellow castmates have said that her self-assessment is rooted more in insecurity than lack of talent (and I don't blame her given the outstanding vocal performers in CR), but I was still happily surprised by "Cold Inside". Going from an F#3 to a B4 is no joke! And sure, a professional recording studio can do wonders for anyone, but it doesn't sound over-produced or robotic to me at any point. It just sounds like her...well, like Marisha-as-Laudna, which is another impressive feat to sing in character!
