About 24 years ago; I was given this problem; A farmer has 1000 meters of fence, and wants to enclose the greatest area. What shape is best.
Now everyone quickly gets the answer. However I’ve always wondered what the correct proof is.
When I’ve looked back at this; i can create an equation that models a N sided shape, but I’ve never been able to formally prove anything as my math is no where near strong enough.
Hoping the good souls of Reddit can help out!
Anybody know where I can get a used but sealing unit. Some how, I think i've damaged mine today when changing the filter and they appear to be rare as hens teeth.
In the UK; but can pay shipping if need be. Any leads would be appreciated!

Looking for suggestions for a shop vac for my tiny workshop. I am hoping for a suggestion on what works best in a small workshop and occasional hobby use. I'm in the UK, and don't want to spend the earth, but also want something that will do the job.
Also looking for suggestions on if a cyclone splitter is worth it.
So, I'm a relatively experienced developer ~15years. Starting to look around again and since the last time I looked (around 6 years ago) there's a lot of "google style" algorithmic test formats being used.
Which has got me thinking. If you tried applying for your Job having done it for however long. Do you think you can pass the interview without going back over the hefty tomes of information?
How many industries exist, in which people we know can do the job (i.e our current employee's) wouldn't pass the interview stage without serious levels of revision (of things you don't need)? Does anyone else feel the same?
