Are there any employers in town you would recommend who have been good mentors?

My fiance and I are relocating to PG in July, I am halfway through my electrical foundations program. I know I'll be able to find work, I'm initially expecting to go into a construction electrician roll as those seem the most commonly posted. It would be nice to join a company that does a variety of new build and service. How is the local IBEW? I know there is camp work in the area but that's not my preference. Open to Union or non-union roles, just looking for a company who is willing to invest in their apprentices, and ideally would be a good employer worth sticking with.

Any other advice is appreciated. Ha

I found a new job and gave my 2 weeks. I was able to negotiate a hire wage and start half way up their 3 year pay scale because of my DS experience. I mentioned I was an AMB and did onboary and training and they said there was definitely room for advancement in training. Amazon can definitely get you down and graveyard is isolating, but use the work experience and if you can get a reference from a chill AM or Ops member do it!

Hello, my husband and I are considering moving to Prince George next year, and are visiting it along with a few other towns in BC. Thank you for making the moving here megathread, I have read it and its been an awesome resource.

He is an elementary school teacher, I went to school for computer science but am going back to college for electrician apprenticeship foundations. I am considering doing my electrician apprenticeship in town through CNC. I am from the Okanagan and he is from the a population 5000 town in BC, currently we are on Vancouver island. We have both been to a fare bit of BC but never really with the intention if considering a move there. We are a gay couple both in our

Hello, my husband and I are considering moving to Quesnel next year, and are visiting it along with a few other towns in BC.

I have read a few of the other 'movi

My site said ambassadors will not be doing the first day for new hires anymore. Leadership will be doing it from now on. I was asked to be an ambassador last year and became one because I enjoyed working with the new hires and doing training. I have been looking forward to onboarding all winter.

They took away the only fulfilling job function, and have have us run the clusters and the dock because they can't hire any L3s.

Are ambassadors still involved with onboarding at other sites or is this the way it is now everywhere?

On the fence, stay for peak cash or to jump ship with what's left of my mental health.

Ambassador here, been at my DS for a year and a half. Overall I have enjoyed working here, met some amazing people and learned a lot, but things at my site have changed over the past year and it's not as nice of a workplace as it used to be. There are lots of amazing people but it's not the same positive vibe.

We used to have music in the warehouse (we got the headphones) with a big "add everything" playlist of everyone's songs, food every other week at least, and a more diverse leadership team. Signing arupted at least once a week in the clusters, we danced a little bit daily, and it was genuinely fun

Has their been any consideration to leveraging the community to assist development?

I understand FB needs to protect their IP, but SB has a very technically minded community, some of who may have the skills to help code and contribute to the project open source style.

If the news that development won't be continuing, I would love to see the community take over if possible.

I understand these systems may be in development in the future, but one thing I am surprised by is how easy it is to steal ships in the verse.

I know there has been quite a bit of discussion on this in past posts and comments on a bunch of platforms, but here is one more take on how a ship key system could work.

Ships may be powered up by anyone, but weapons and engines can be set to require authorization before starting. Restricted systems will only accept the startup command if the pilot in the chair has an authorization key.

Exterior door access could be restricted but “hacked/bypassed” relatively easily (e.g. a player may need to connect a wire to the control panel and hide there for

Is it normal for the garbage trucks to collect the curb side recycling? They took my sorted curbside bins and threw them all in one compartment on the truck. I would gladly take my recycling into the depot instead if I knew the city/Emterra were going to landfill it. I know the recycling system is far from perfect, but I do want to feel like I'm doing my part, this (especially with the heatwaves in the news) just burns.

Yesterday I (22 m) went on an amazing first date with this super sweet guy (21 m), we talked for hours and he is an absolute gem. We have a 2nd date planned and I am absolutely looking forward to it.

I am not a huge fan of clubs, or most bars where it's too loud to have a conversation.

He is just someone I want to be around, definitely open to trying something new. Any recommendations are welcome?

Edit: In my area (BC, Canada) restaurants and most things are open with restrictions and vaccine passports.

Hello, new agent not sure what do to.

There has been a large field over the majority of my city for a few weeks, last night I saw the field was down for the first time and started walking in triangles haha, but within 30min it was back up. I walked about 5km down one of the major roads trying to find the end before turning around and calling it quits.

So noob question: what is there to do when stuck in a large friendly control field other the hack portals and remove enemy resonators?

It's been weeks since I created a single link, any advice is appreciated :)

Edit: spelling

I want to preface this by saying the point of this post is to not to dev bash.

As the title says, a game I play had decided that the term gay is a hate speech term and will temp chat ban anyone who identifies themselves as gay, and I am having a bit of an internal conflict on continuing to support them.

I understand this is supposed to stop people from using the term derogatively, however context is not considered when these bans are handed out. This is a studio that is quite proud of their code of conduct, and will often repeat how there policies are based on respect and creating a welcoming environment for all players. Even though this current issue has been brought to there attention,

I figure during the pandemic most of us have had a lot of extra time on our hands to think about long term plans, and to figure out what we really want to do with our lives. I'm in my 20s now so I am not looking to rush into anything, but one thing I would love to have is a family of my own at some point.

Growing up I volunteered and was a part of scouts and there were 2 youth who had gay parents, it was absolutely heart wrenching to see how cold other parents could be to them, and their families. Never anything physically hostile, just stares, way to many disrespectful comments, removing them from email lists, etc. We had to ask one individual to leave after they made a comment along the l
