Ciao, I have an opportunity to get a job at an american company based in Milan. Their offer is maybe 50k which is not great, not terrible.

Being a hybrid job, I need to get a rent close by, so I'm expecting around 2000 /monthly and on top some other stuff with food and utilities for up to 3000/monthly costs.

From what I researched, the city is fine with expats, however, the actual IT side inside companies, seems pretty bad, even in Milan. How will like look as a software developer with experience at big tech in FAANG and little to no italian skills?

I am speed running dualingo on Italian, but it's gonna take a while.

Opinions from other IT people of any feedback?

Hi, so i grabbed a S25 yesterday, and moat of the setup is doen, all good, transfered sms, calls etc, but whatsapp, just won't work.

i found a bunch of expeeimental ways, none work, as a developer, i expected i could just copy paate the entire structure with everyrhing on the s25, using a laptop as a middle man, and get things going. stupid me for thinking samsung switch or phone clone could do that.

Tried doing it manually, same effect, it just ignores to see the local backup, with or without sim in phone.

Is there any way to actually get this done without extra shady 3rd party stuff? the only thing I haven't tried yet is to setup the new s25, try to backup from it, and before expor

acuma, laptopu are 2 ssduri, si as vrea sa adaug un 2tb/4tb ssd in al doilea slot.

Avand Lenovo premium care,cei de la Lenovo Romania, au zis ca poti face tu operatia, ca ai acel Premium Care, insa daca arzi ssdul nu raspund ei, si garantia ramane la retailer, emag/altex in cazu meu. Ambii retaileri au cu depanero, care evident zic ca nu poti decat la ei direct contra cost.

Hi, anyone who got a pura 80 global version on emui15, any of them really, and did a adb debug to see which services version is it running?

While china has the HOs,the global market gets emui, and to my surprise, pura70 lineup comes with emui14 which is still based on aosp12 which has been deprecated by Google last year.

Now the pura80 mentions it comes with emui15, but absolutely no trace or proof on which aosp its based on emui/globally

asking because I'm looking to buy a new phone, but getting a "new" phone that is already vulnerable security wise would be just stupid, and since bootloaders are still locked you cant just get a HOS image and installing it yourself, not mentioning

Hi, techy here So a friend purchased a Yoga7pro 14ASP10 on one of those BF discounts, and he of course relies on his "it friend" for the setup. Now i tried to force a w10 on the device, and manually install w11 drivers, but most of the stuff isn't really working apart from amd drivers

lenovo only supports w11 drivers aparently for this model and he simply doesn't want w11 on it.

now i did suggest an Ubuntu or some other distro, which seem to work great ouy of the box on 24.04 lts, however he still wants windows 10 as dual boot.

do i really need to decompile edit and recompile the w11 drivers to work on w10 which is ...the same os core?!

I'm looking to get a new laptop, I'm a teacher and need to make quick VO videos for my students.

I currently run and old 4800H 2060 gaming laptop which has multiple issues, and was looking to buy something to make rendering faster.

Between intel 255H and AmD 365 cpus I noticed that intel H has 2x media encoding engines unlike lunar lake, and amd, but looking at the free resolve, i cant tell if this would actually help my setup, or just rely purely on the nvidia dGpu. I mostly need to render FHD 30/60 FPS with recorded audio

is that important at all? or is it enough to just get anything with a 5050 and let it use nvidia engines?

I binged a bunch of videos on "and this is the <mic> and this is how it sounds" from a few reviewers but Ibalso noticed a few mentioning here that they are misleading since lack of audio env and also heavy post proceesing bybthem and then by youtube

i locked at rode nt usb mini but i do have a nasaly voice, and no sound proofing env. the usb c podmic seems to be too quiet without amps and testing camera shotgun mics or lavaliers didnt go well.

at this point I'm confused and can't tell if I'm doing something wrong or just expect too much from too cheap gear.

It does seem like this year's 10th gen legion 5s are the worst they ever been, almost sub par to loq

Looking at buying a 5000 nvidia given the extra tops for ai i saw that:

1. inferior screens, oled isn't really an upgrade if it's glossy with meh refresh rate
2. no mux switch on legion5 models, you need to reboot
3. some shenanigans to ports
4. plastic feels flimsier by all youtubers and actual personal feel in retails shops
5. cooling again is inferior to.both previous gen and cheaper competitor tufs
6. intel cpus are still meh, entry level still has 13th gen lool while amd has 260(8845HS) with 780m or the meh 350 (halfbreed ryzen 5-7) with meh igpu
7. 24gb ddr4800 loooool models
8. ips 10
