All my life I've always been super sensitive to mosquito bites. And I've seen comments around here making me think there must be some Fibro link to it.

Like for me I would compulsively itch mosquito bites. Could not stop thinking about them or the itching.

And now I'm even more sure there's a link.

I've been on (generic) Contrave for weight loss for 3 months now. One component of that is Naltrexone (my Rx is 50mg/day). From the very first dose my fibro pain was gone. Completely. Unless I miss a dose then it creeps back a bit.

Anyway, this weekend I went to a bonfire at a friend's and the mosquitos were pretty bad. Even with pants I managed to get a few bites. Here's the kicker, my bi

I stopped wearing my (lds) garments two days ago and bought regular underwear yesterday which is kind of a big deal. He hasn't noticed, but only because he's been sick and sleeping on the couch or in the guest bedroom since Wednesday.

I still didn't have the big conversation with him that we need to have. Not just about church but about us.

I still want to pursue relationships outside of our marriage. Primarily with women, but also with men.

I guess what scares me most is I don't know if he loves me enough to let me find those connections that he can't give.

Our marriage was based on the temple ideals of marriage then kids then raise kids in the church. And he was able to keep loving me

I bought a 1500 pound platen press and press folks online are saying that a flatbed tower would be the best way to get it from the garage it's in in Seattle to my own garage in Tacoma. Drive up access on both ends. Press is on skids and should be able to be pulled up on a flatbed pretty easily. These presses are top-heavy though so we need to be careful.

Also, there's a timing issue. The seller is available at 8pm tomorrow night for me to come get it.

Any tow truck operators willing to go on this adventure with me? Send me a message and an estimate, assuming 40 miles.

I've been talking with someone local that is pretty desperate to get rid of a C&P 10x15 and made plans to go get it on Saturday. But my dad, a career pressman and Heidelburg mechanic is strongly trying to talk me out of it. He's scared I'll get hurt loading/unloading it and I'll be in way over my head once I have it. And I guess I'm wondering if I will be.

Despite growing up in printshops in Michigan I didn't really pay attention much to the presses. I've never had classes. And my dad lives across the country and will not be traveling with his failing health.

I did see that there's an 8 week (8 days of 3 hours of instruction) letterpress class that I can take near me (for $500) this summ

What are some letterpress textbooks that I should buy and read? Favorite online resources? I looked in the sidebar but it looks like this sub doesn't have a resources section (although I'm not super savvy at Reddit so I could be completely missing it)

My dad is a retired offset printer and free-lance Heidelberg mechanic. At some point he acquired an antique tabletop letterpress that's been languishing in his basement. Fast forward to now and I've been writing poetry. I want to make prints of my poems. I'm even on my way to compiling a book of poems. I'd love for my book to be scans of my printed works.

Anyway, I'll be driving back to Michigan sometime this summer to pick up

Poem for my husband

Podcast/Blog/Media

**A Quiet Way to Cry**

We are sitting in the same room,

close enough

that our feet almost touch.

The television is playing travel videos.

Strangers visit cities

we have never seen.

You are watching the screen.

I am watching

the quiet place between my hands.

I’ve learned a quiet way to cry:

tears slipping down

the side of my face

you cannot see.

Somewhere in a temple

someone promised

we would understand each other

forever.

Eternal companions.

The phrase was spoken

like a destination

we would someday find

yet had already reached.

On the television

people keep moving

across oceans,

across landscapes,

toward places

that look like escape.

And I sit here beside you

I have a consistent breakfast for the first time since leaving home...19 years ago. After I didn't have mom making me breakfast every day I just never adulted hard enough to manage to make myself breakfast.

Usually I just skipped it and then snacked way way way too much later in the day.

But I've been buying these frozen açai bowls that come with a little granola pack and then topping them with 4oz Greek yogurt and a sliced banana. I admit it's a little like having dessert for breakfast but it seems to be fairly nutrient-dense.

440 calories, which admittedly is a lot, but I won't eat again until dinner and I'm still having trouble getting up to 1200 cal a day. Been hovering somewhere c

I know this is just an echo chamber, and I don't know what I'm hoping to gain from sharing but I just felt like writing out my story today.

Just over a decade ago when I was 25 I was this whole different person...queer, poly...but living in a disfunctional triad. And while those relationships were falling apart I had a manic episode that completely rocked my world like never before. To patch myself up and try to feel whole again I turned to the LDS church. Even with a very complicated history of religious trauma and rejection from growing up Lutheran, I still went there. I got baptized at 26, then endowed a year later, became a temple worker even. And it worked, I had somewhere to belong

Welp...the Naltrexone is working. I was having obsessive thoughts about food and and feeling of hunger would CONSUME my every though. Started Naltrexone + Buproprion in the middle of February. From the start it really controlled the obsessive food thoughts and now for the last week I'm not hungry at all. I eat some dinner at home with my husband so that he doesn't ask too many questions but otherwise I'm not eating during the day. Nothing really sounds exciting about food anymore. Food was a hobby. I loved cooking. Now I walk into the store to shop and I'm lost. Nothing looks good. I'm 246# at 5'6" So I have pounds to lose But how fck'd am I if I'm eating for example one chicken thigh a da

Two weeks ago at a general checkup I asked my Dr about what my prescription options are for weightloss. I explained my brain has 40 channels all playing all the time and 20 of them at least are about food. I can be eating a meal and thinking about my next one already. And when I'm hungry it's all 40 channels blaring that. I needed help that's not just "let yourself be hungrier". She briefly went over that GLP1 injectables wont be covered by my insurance but that there are a few oral prescriptions that we could try. She presented two options and I don't remember what the second was but the first one was Contrave, which she would prescribe by combining a prescription for generic Naltrexone wit
