Hi,

I just received a meeting invite for later today, and the details said that “we wanted to set up some time talk about the future of the team and your role. Please make every effort to attend”. It’s with my current manager, his manager’s manager, and another engineer.

Is this a sign I’m getting laid off? I find it odd that the meeting just occurs on a random Tuesday.

Hi everyone,

My current boss, who is on my team, is moving to another team. He’s been my boss ever since I started working at my company two years ago, and him and I are friendly together. My boss being on my team means that he knew what I was working on, and he said that I’m doing well on the team.

Since my current boss is moving to a new team, I’m getting a new boss, who is not on my team. I know who he is (seen him around the office, in meetings etc), but we don’t interact often. I think that my new boss not being a part of my team might mean that it will be harder for me to advocate for myself, say “these are the big stories I’m currently working on”, and therefore, it might be harder

Hi,

Recently, I’ve noticed that my home WiFi is really slow in my bedroom compared to my living room. I have a Verizon FIOS router, and I’m curious if there’s anything I can do to make it faster (getting an extender, switching to another WiFi provider like Unifi, etc.)

here’s the wifi speeds from my living room

Here’s the WiFi speed from my bedroom.

You can see that there’s a big difference between the WiFi speeds in my living room and my bedroom.

Hi everyone,

Apologies in advance if this is the wrong sub for this question.

My company has a benefit where, at the end of the year, they contribute an amount towards my 401k based on how much I paid towards my student loans.

However, to get them to contribute money, I need to submit payment history statements to the provider that manages my 401k/this benefit (in my case, NetBenefits from Fidelity). My student loan provider is Edfinancial, and I tried to submit the email showing my student loan payment was confirmed, but since it didn’t have my last name, they rejected it.

They sent me a message saying that they can only accept payment statements if it contains:

So I graduated college, and I just got an offer letter today from a company that I interned with last summer.

My salary is $86k per year, with a 401k/pension plan. I get 20 days PTO per year (along with 7 company holidays), and it’s a hybrid position (3 days in office, 2 days remote).

The only problem is that I have to relocate for this position and move to another city. I get a $1500 relocation bonus, and since I don’t have a car, I have to find an apartment close to the office. This is the only offer I received, so if I reject this, I have to start my search from square one.

What do you guys think? Should I accept this offer even though I have to move? Is this offer good considering t
