So my mom called me today for the first time in months. She finishes telling me about her and my dad’s lovely, warm vacation before she breaks down sobbing. She explains that she needs 500$ for a medical bill but can’t afford it. She asks me for the money, and says she can’t take “no” for an answer, and that she has no other options. I asked why she’s taking vacations if she can’t afford medical bills, but that, apparently, is besides the point. I sent her the money. It sucks because I had been saving that to buy some nice gloves and a coat, because my current gear is in rough shape, and Canada be cold. The craziest part is that she isn’t even supposed to be the narc parent; my dad is.

I have ADHD and Autism, and I think I've noticed an interesting interaction. Due to the boredom I experience with day to day due to ADHD, and the vast collection of social mask I've accumulated over the years (I went undiagnosed for a very long time and would attempt different lifestyles while trying to find myself. NTs would probably look at it and call them "phases".) And sometimes, I just feel like acting a certain way. Today, for instance, I just feel like wearing my stoic soldier mask. I wonder if it is confusing for the NTs I interact with on a regular basis. Has anyone else experienced this?

Clinical laboratory technologist here. I work in a highly regarded transplant lab in Canada. Three or so years ago, when I was struggling with some personal life stuff, I ended up being diagnosed with ADHD and Autism, and close to disclose this to my employer, in order to get some accommodations/help. Since then, things have been a nightmare. Being gaslighted, minimized, and invalidated. I get blamed for the mistakes of others, and my supervisors believe it. It's like being in school all over again. I've been disciplined several times for minor, common errors that all techs make from time to time, and I have never harmed a patient. This morning I received a "surprise investigation" ema

After a lot of thought, therapy, and help from my girlfriend, I felt I was ready to talk to my family about my upbringing. I determined that I needed to approach this from a place of understanding, I spoke to him, my mom, and my sister in our childhood living room. I explained my journey to shed the Narcissistic lessons and grooming I was subjected to, and then asked my father, if he wanted us to have a real relationship, to seek the same help I did, and that I would help, if he wanted, and that I still love him. He tells me he doesn’t remember my childhood that way. He then attempted to use a past emotional moment (one he’s used before, despite changing many details) with some new detail

The crystal chandelier overhead split the bright lantern light into an explosion of color. The vivid reds, deep blues, and rich greens played over Sir Steiner’s armor, polished for the occasion. He glanced down at the boy beside him, who was already pulling away to enter the room. A wave of nostalgia washes over the knight, as he remembers the last time he and the boy shared this room.

The kingdom rejoiced at the birth of their future king. Libations and revelries flowed as smoothly and freely as the silk gowns twirling on the dance floor. As smoothly as the poisoned blade that slipped into the new parents’ backs. Unnoticed, until the assassin crept towards the crib. He moves with th
