General Sub Positions Poll

GENERAL DISCUSSION

Hey all!

The daily thread is always rather fixated on price movement - no doubt because it's the only news we're getting. Usually to that I say "ah, well, we're waiting for buyout anyway"

But then I realized. Are we? All of us?

I'm curious about what the *general* position of the sub is. Who's holding for Buyout, who's planning on escaping early, and what's the actual proportion of bears in here.

If multiple apply ("mostly calls, some puts to minimize risk" or "hold to buyout, but trim at 80 to lock in profits") vote for the one that represents the *majority* of your strategy.

Remember: the poll is anonymous, so there's no need to be performative about positions when you vote.

On the same night that CW had suspicion thrown upon him, I had insomnia. With sleep not taking me, I thought I might as well go over my notes and make sure I still like my investment. Something casual, simple, and easily fact-checkable. Sources included for research. It obviously lacks the graphical/computer skills of those like Confident-Web or Commercial-Ad. Such is life.

My goal is not to convince anyone of anything. No, I use far too many estimates for that. It is for two groups:

  1. Semi-comprehensive summary of the stock for people (god forbid) newer than I am around here
  2. Spark discussion with others who have done their own research. I'm curious about your methodologies, perseonal

AKA: I opened StockTwits and one specific guy kept reposting the same thing and it annoyed me enough I decided to post about it.

TL;DR at end

Acute Myeloid Leukemia: What are we treating here?

(Rather oversimplified) AML is a cancer that affects ~20,000 people in the USA every year with a global prevalence of ~1.7 patients per 100,000. Essentially, a population white blood cells of the bone marrow become hyperproliferative and borderline functionless. A patient will steadily decline in "healthy" cells in the blood as the "unhealthy" white blood cells fill up all the space. It progresses very quickly, and patients have a standard survival of ~30% after 5 years in adults.

I'm a relatively new investor into biotech stocks. One that caught my eye is Sellas Life Sciences. The science is there, the past trials look good, current trial seems to be progressing smoothly, and a clear market niche means that if the trial lands it should be smooth sailing. Obviously, nothing is guaranteed in stock (much less one reliant on incomplete trials). But it looks like it's pretty well set to corner a niche market.

But then, when you look at discussions on it, it seems like the discussion trends towards "moon or bust." Valuations that would make a bull flinch. Arguments in its defense that rely more upon having faith than the science or market behind it.

Which in turn seems

Equal parts speculation and spoiler about our favorite heretic, Rien.
There's a line in "Children of the City that never quite felt right for the Index in Limbus.

"Now it's time for another vendetta
Going through the shelves
Picking out my pre-written persona"

While this seemingly implies Yan, who was manipulated by the Will of the City, I find the connection rather flimsy. The Index proxies of Ruina have very distinct personalities, with no apparent prescripts that modify them. Further, Yan is explicitly not having his personality dictated by the prescripts, else he would have known before the big reveal at the end of his arc. While his actions were prewritten, his personality w

In Canto 9 Part 3, I've had sinners who keep using their Zayin EGO despite not being commanded to. When they do this, they have unique voice lines.

Meursault's chains is something like "This shall reduce the enemy's effectiveness" instead of "The Multitude tightens its hold"

Outis says "it is time to put an end to this. Fire point-blank!" instead of "The Odyssey has a purpose"

Don also did it ... But I didn't pay attention to voice line

Is there a passive in these fights that I'm not seeing? Is this a core mechanic I've somehow avoided learning?

TL;DR

Alastor engineered the rise of Vox so he could get someone nearly as strong as himself as a sparring partner, both in media and combat.

Why I think this:

I started thinking about Alastor's relationship with Vox while reflecting on the flashback where he tore Vox apart for wanting to team up. It would be remarkably out of character for modern Alastor to behave that way. When dissing people, Alastor favors being overly curt rather than boisterous. Further, given his deal with Rosie and how he bails Mimzy out, he's more than familiar with the idea of teaming up - both with equals and inferiors.

Based on this, especially in the context of his modern manipulation of the Vees, I

Having finally gotten to see X's powers in action, I would like to propose a theory about the upper limit of X's powers, how that relates to "The Truth" he showed Ahu, and what he's been up to all season.

Changing Dimensions

As we know, his power is changing the dimensions of objects. We most typically see him doing this from 3D to 2D (and vice versa), with a number of powerful abilities.

  • Turning enemies into helpless graffiti
  • Quick travelling through walls
  • Conjuring items (like the car) from art to reality

However, near the midpoint of the episode, he shows Ahu the "truth," taking Ahu to a strange void-like place. I believe this is X's greatest power:

The Fourth Dimension

This is a short theory based on a couple of observations of events that seem like outliers alone, but together seem pretty consistent.

TL;DR - We're being mislead about Trust, and the Number doesn't matter as much as why you have it.

# Observation 1: Yang Cheng and Firm Man

Both of these two developed their powers during a do-or-die incident where they stepped in to save a child. While we don't know Firm Man's number, we know he wasn't a hero before this. For Yang Cheng, we know absolutely that he was at 0. We also know from Yang Cheng's backstory that it's abnormal to have 0 trust. We know from Loli's weightlifting scene that while having 11 Trust might make you stronger, it does not
