I've been making some music lately, and I've gotten most of what i'd like ready before heading in to a recording studio. Some of these songs are meant to be shanties inspired by The Black Company books, specifically by the Jewel Cities and the Sea of Torments, and what Marching songs might've been like for the company and other Military outfits in the books of the North.

I'd like to share the Lyrics for these Specifically Black Company inspired songs for Input from other fans. Obviously the lyrics here imply and take a lot of creative liberty, so hopefully that will be forgiven. Otherwise, I'd love to hear what people think, and if anyone has any ideas or suggestions to make the lyrics fe

Hear me out; Alternate versions of Consumables or Tools that are labeled "Dead Mans Switch" items.

These items take up your valuable Tools and Consumables slots, and would be more expensive than their traditional counterparts, but provide a singular unique benefit and could save your hide.

DMS items cannot be used in normal gameplay, rather the moment your hunter is downed or dead, the items activate immediately.

Think of the humble Solo Hunter. Too Often they invest in Necromancer, which is a wasted trait slot and upgrade points because right now everyone babysits every body while it burns out. What if the moment your body dropped, a Choke Bomb went off preventing your body from getting

I seem to recall in one of the later books in the series that the worlds of the shadowgates are posited to either be
A) All geographically Mirrored
or B) The same world, at different and vastly separated points in time.

personally i think the second option is more fun/interesting, but I can't decide how would be a fun way to PROVE it in universe.

We have access to at least 2 worlds, 3 or more if some issues are dealt with but for this thinking we'll stick with the two.

IF the worlds are the same one at different times, How would you go about trying to prove that? It seems the easier of the two ideas to prove imo, and my thoughts are thus;

!I know there's probably not enough info about any of this to give solid answers (Or maybe there is, i keep being reminded I haven't read anything written more recently than 2000; i should fix that sometime) so this is mostly just meant as fun "what if" thinking.!<

!My questions boil up generally from the idea that Father tree was conjured at great cost from another world and a long time ago.!<

!Is Father Tree from one of the many worlds connected to the Plain via Shadowgates?!<

!One of those worlds or no, Father Tree has been there a long time. Do you think he has any awareness of what went down with Kina and Crew? Can Father Tree be aware of things that far away if he wants to be?!<

!After The White Rose, when Lady takes up with the company and goes south with everyone, all the way up through the end of soldiers live, could it be said that she's had a Redemption Arc? That she's Turned around? Or by the end when Croak'Vetya has restored her to full power, is she still just as Nihilistic and Morally ambivalent a character?!<

!Personally I'm split. I feel like she's Changed, but would I say she's been "Redeemed"? I'm not sure, I don't think so. Or at the very least, She's not done with the arc yet.!<

Is it ever Clearly Stated in the books?
I always felt like Goblin and One-Eye were eye to eye relatively in terms of height, both pretty short, but I feel like every time I see artistic depictions of them Goblin is as tall as he is wide and One-Eye is an average height.

Did my Imagination just assume that One-Eye was also short? Is he as tall as anyone else? Or is he short like Goblin?
