Anyone have experience with using proroc aquastop as tile substrate?

The information sheet says it's suitable.

I have abit left over after redoing my bathroom ceiling. Just need a small area next to the stove for a splashback.

Looks to be just paper stuck on the dry rock.......

Don't really want to go out and buy a massive sheet of cement backer board.

I've been binging this show recently. Just watched S5E1. Wow that's depressing. I get to get some plot armor they had to get everyone back.

But to see them all literally fail after leaving community college then return to community college........

Most of their lives were already ruined which resulted in them going to community college in the first place.

To exhaust 4 more years just to go out and fail and return.........

This is supposed to be a comedy but that's easily 1 of the most depressing thing I've seen on any drama.

Do people just use GIB plus 4 for everything or are you "realistically supposed" to use different joint compound depending on application/location/purpose etc

I installed bathroom exhaust fan that vents to the outside.

Unfortunately the structure of roof doesn't allow the 150mm duct to feed through to the outside.

So I ripped out all the metal wire out of the duct inorder to connect to the outlet.

Does anyone know if this is OK. or is the integrity of the duct too compromised to last?

I've been waiting 2 months for this

https://www.bunnings.co.nz/earthwool-glasswool-r1-5-70mm-x-470mm-x-2700mm-19m-quilted-underfloor-insulation-batt_p8911017

at this point I'm keen for an alternative.

So what is the absolute cheapest underfloor insulation you are aware of?

NOT cost to R-value ratio. Cheapest /m2 is my only goal.

I want to do this as soon as possible. Girl at Mitre10 said they updating the regulations to force higher R-values(?) so just incase she is right I want to get this done ASAP before the regulations change and they phase out all the lower

Installing extractor fan in bathroom

The craw-space is........ poorly designed..... inorder to get the outlet to out of the house I had to remove the metal wire in the duct due to the small orfices in the between the joists and roof.

I tested the duct with the fan on and everything is working fine. Seems the system is pretty tough.

Will this be OK long term or is the integrity of the duct too compromised to last?

Would be nice if you can state if you are a pro or not if giving definitive answer.

Here's the problem

You go to bunnings/mitre10. Regardless of what paint you buy and what's on the label. The staff will always say you need a primer.

I don't know if they are trying to do addon sales or if it's because most people are too stupid to do proper prep work and they are just trying to cover themselves.

Wattyl solagard is a good example - a paint I have used multiple times and know for a fact I don't need a primer....... still got recommended to use a primer......

Here's the one that troubles me tho ->[https://www.bunnings.co.nz/ppg-paints-8l-white-low-sheen-sure-coat-interior-paint_p0134797](https://www.bunnings.co.nz/ppg-paints-8l-white-low-sheen-sure-coat-interior-paint_
