Hey fellow Connecticutioners, this is my first post on the subreddit and I am trying to plan a trip this summer to watch the meteor showers (peak on August 13th)

When I was a child, I went tent camping in central CT and one night, I was gazing at the sky and I could see the Milky Way, like a dusty streak across the sky. It's a core memory for me, and it's on my bucket list to see it again with the naked eye some day.

I was watching through the series again, and I know Kinger is supposed to represent dementia, but on my rewatch something really stuck with me.

He tells Pomni that it's okay that he won't remember, as long as she remembers. And for a second it took me back to my grandfather- he had severe dementia, thought I was my dad (strong resemblance tbf) and mostly sat there staring into space. But when we sang hymns that he knew from his time as a minister he came back to life.

And I had a breakdown back then, because I wondered what the point was if he couldn't remember. While I'm sure someone told me as much then, it didnt click until watching this show.

So in late 2024 I divorced my husband of 4 years and moved to another state to be closer to family and some old business contacts.

This post is not about my marriage but it has come to light that my ex and I are in an unusual financial situation.

During the divorce process with my now- ex, it was revealed that after five years together, believing we were legally married, there was a form that had never been signed, sitting in a random state office filing cabinet, that was the last piece of documentation needed to finalize our marriage in the first place. We were never legally married, and we were never notified.

He wanted to sign a form that would have made it retroactively official, but I refused. I did not want to go through the long and painful process of divorce if I had a get-out-of-jail-free card.
