I’ve been doing a lot of research and browsing for the last couple weeks and I really like the look of the Miyabi Shiro 8” chefs knife. There aren’t any reviews for that specific model, it’s a Williams Sonoma exclusive.

I have decided on every option I want for my first pair of boots except one. Heel height.
I’ve never had a pair of boots with a higher heel. The most I’ve had is my hiking boots with about a 1/4 or less heel difference.
I will be using these 95% of the time on concrete floors (school maintenance).
I don’t usually have foot pain with my sneakers that I wear, but I will get a sore back and sore knees by the end of the day.
Do you think the 55 last with full height heel will be too high and uncomfortable? Should I get 55 with a lower stack? HNW with low stack?
Anyone else go from sneakers to high heel boots? How was your experience?
I’m building Adirondack chairs out of black locust as a gift. I wanted to put a finish on them so they look nice when they are presented. However, I plan on letting them grey out over time and just weather naturally.
I’ve done polyurethane in the past and it looks great for a while, but when it starts to fail, it looks really bad.
I was thinking of just doing danish oil,Antique oil or BLO because I have them on stock. Is there a better option?
I'm planning on getting 1964 monarch smooth for my first pair of Nick's. But before I pull the trigger I'd love to see a side by side with either brown or tan, or both.
I need to transport a large piece of furniture a long distance. If I take the front passenger seat out, am I going to have warnings and sirens beeping at me for the entire drive? Will it cause problems with other electrical systems? Will it cause problems when I reinstall it?
Thanks for any help. I’m mechanically capable, but sort of a dunce when it comes to electronics.
I’m getting few slabs flattened, and afterwards I’m going to fill cracks and holes with epoxy.
The slabs will be about 1.75 to 2 inches thick. Some have large voids that need to be filled. All have cracks and fissures that go all the way through. I have questions. I milled these slabs almost 4 years ago, and I really don’t want to ruin them at the end of the journey.
I’m looking at Liquid glass, deep pour. I figure I need it for the larger voids , so just buy one type and use it for everything. Or should I get a different type for small cracks and holes?
Pigment? I want opaque black, but I haven’t looked at what the best option is.
I’ve been searching for the answer to this, and haven’t seen a definitive yes or no.
I know the bag is bigger than the requirements for a personal item, but it looks like you could squash the brain compartment down if you had to. Is it possible to squish the coulee 30 down to an under seat personal item?
My other option is a Catalyst 26, but I like the Coulee better.
Hi, I’m shopping for a pair of sunglasses to replace my old AO Pilots. They were great, but the lenses delaminated. I’m looking for something with a classic style, not too sporty. I have a very high, and very wide bridge, so most sunglasses sit too high on my nose.
I’m hoping someone else here has had a similar search and came up with a list of glasses that fit. Thank you.
I was getting on the highway, the car was pretty warmed up from maybe 40 minutes of driving, so it wasn’t a cold engine. I decided to leave it in 3rd and give it some revs. I got to about 5500, definitely didn’t redline it or hit the limiter, but right when I was about to go to 4th, it felt like I just took my foot off the gas. Low power mode and check engine light came on.
I was about 3 miles from the dealership, so instead of stopping on a sketchy stretch of highway, I limped it to the dealer. They said it’s going to be a couple days before they can look at it.
Does it sound like I killed the car? Or is this something that happens?
I milled up some white oak last year to make a little front porch.
I’m planning it now, and the ray fleck is amazing. I’d love to keep it as natural as possible, while still making it durable and not slippery.
Whats your favorite deck finish for something that isn’t a stain?
I’m making small window frames with half lap corners. It would be much easier for me to clamp these together by just putting weight on top of the frame than to try and get clamps on all 4 corners.
The four gluing surfaces are about 1 square inch each, so 4 square inches of total glue surface.
How much weight should be sufficient to press these glue joints together?
I milled three logs of oak and maple 2 years ago. They’ve been stacked and stickered in the driveway, and now I want to unstack them and bring them inside.
How should I store them until I’m ready to use them? I’m planning on standing them up and storing them like an album collection. Is there anything I should do to them while they wait?
