Just wanted to point out that at Home Depot, Amazon, Best Buy, and other places have a 2pk of A19/60w bulbs are $50 (and 3pk $75) which basically means $25/each.

I mention it because a singular non-sale price essentials bulb is the same lumens, but the non-essential bulbs have much better whites and dimming range.

Hey there, just so everyone is aware, while it says that the essential bulbs can go as warm as 2200k, it really is very simulated. It looks nothing like the rest of my hue bulbs. It has this garish pink tone to it. Not warm and orange.

I know, I know. But I really thought the compromises were gonna be dimming level, going beyond 2200 and 6500, color sync, and brightness. I didn’t think that a spec that Hue claims the bulb can reproduce (2200) would be so bad.

I’m pretty bummed. Wasn’t expecting top notch color but I did expect the whites to be in check. I think these might be going back.

I especially love Pumpkin Spice. Reminiscent of Morning Coffee dynamic scene on the Hue Go that I’ve tried to replicate in the past but can’t get it quite right.

Just really nice palettes for fall. Idk why I’m surprised, lol, just thought they all were really nice.

Is anyone else unable to add skills or use skills currently? I can’t control music services or smart home devices. Timers, weather, time, questions, those all work fine. Seems to specifically be a skills issue.

I've made a few posts here and on the official sonos forums about my devices hopping off the app but still being controllable via Spotify and other 3rd party apps. That, coupled with surrounds and subs never reconnecting to their respective soundbars after a reboot or update left me pretty frustrated. Apologies for this being long. Sometimes I get a little wordy like JKR in Order of the Phoenix and I give way too much information. In this case, I think more info is better than less info.

Noticed some strange behavior with the Hue Go Table Lamp with specific colors between 90-100% brightness while connected to power. 

Conditions:

1. Connected to power
2. Greater than 90% brightness
3. Color in this realm (see screenshots for a general location in the color wheel):

   1. hs_color: 23.333, 42.353

   2. rgb_color: 255, 189, 147

   3. xy_color: 0.4509, 0.364

The lamp seems to slightly pulse a few times in a row, stabilize, and then do it again, over and over. It’s very smooth so it’s sometimes hard to notice. Yesterday our ISP was down for about 18 hours because a fiber line was cut by mistake. Harrowing.

What I found odd, though, was the Sonos app was taking a very long time to load, well, anything local. Room list took minutes, browsing my local music library was bad, speaker settings in system settings weren’t displaying properly (mic status wrong, no WiFi signal strength, wired products that have WiFi disabled were saying WiFi was enabled).

Now, after our internet has been restored, all of that is lightning fast as usual.

I wrote a script that fades a user-defined light through a few colors to simulate sunrise. it includes an option to add a delay before the script starts.

I know calling the script by name will not let the next part of the sequence execute until the script is finished, but when I call script.turn_on, I don't know how to define the variables the script needs (light entity, fade duration, final white temp, and start delay).

Any ideas? Thanks!

I’ve been searching a lot for a consensus on this but can’t seem to find one.

I have zigbee2mqtt and mqtt set up and I’m successfully pushing a bulb, some plugs, a hue dimmer, and an Aqara temp sensor to Home Assistant.

I guess I have 2 questions:

1. How do most people configure their switches like Hue and others? Do they do the hard work of listening to the MQTT topic in an automation or do they use a blueprint? Or do they build their own blueprint? It feels so complex to set up a switch which leads me to…

2. Why do things like bulbs and sensors have all entities exposed, but the hue dimmer switch only exposes 1 button to HA?

Edit: I figured out the problem.

When I first mounted the NFS volume, I didnt give it write permissions like an IDIOT.

I didn't realize I needed to delete the volume (somewhere in the Portainer UI, even though I used docker compose to mount it) before it would re-mount with rw permissions. Problem solved!
