I never really got into GL growing up, thought Hal was boring, plus you had John, Kyle and Guy running around at the same time. My main exposure to Hal when Zero Hour when he saw Coast City get annihilated, then his descent into succumbing to Parallax.

Being a kid in the 90s, Guy was my favorite cause of his attitude. He was like a good guy Biff!

My mom either bought or my brother gave me some comics in the early 90s, I’m thinking it may have been Mosaic because John was in the covers. (I need to dig them up and see; I remember a few were signed by someone working on the book back then.)

Anyway, I recall a resurgence in the early 2000s when he came back and the GL Corp book was popular f

Specifically referencing the Poppy Playtime series. Those figures sold out super fast! The only ones I managed to find was Kissy Missy and the 12-inch Huggy and Missy. Saw a couple of the 4.5-inch figures at Target but were priced nearly $60 bucks.

Anyway, does McFarlane produce another batch of figures when they turn into hot sellers or am I screwed out of getting that wave (cause fuck scalper pricing)?

I bought the Asia exclusive Marvel Spider-Man set want to make and Scorpion and Doc Ock’s tail/tentacles longer to look more like the display pic on the boxes.

I’m aware of after-sales replacements, but this isn’t what I’m after. The pieces were there.

I just want to buy more links to improve the characters’ posability/playability!

We all know the master license will shift to Mattel soon, so I wanted to take a moment to lambast Playmates for completely dropping the ball and not understanding shifting demographics.

Their core market is now in their forties, and they hardly ever stepped outside of their comfort box.

This has been going on since at least the 2k3 era, with posts in the Drome citing Paula giving cookie cutter responses to actual grievances.

It’s like whoever was in charge after Next Mutation threw up their hands and thought “Turtles are passé, re-release the old figures.”.

Super7, “partnering” with Four Horsemen, was doing a better job than Playmates at their own game: giving us old farts modern version

If not, what is the most reputable source to catalogue a collection?

Follow up: how did you insure them? High value on the whole collection, or just the most valuable?

Context: My mom is downsizing and sent ALL of my vintage figures to me, I’m talking G1/2 Transformers, GI Joe, and mainly the OG TMNT figures. My collection of Turtles is vast and includes several key figures complete with accessories that historically fetched four figures. I want to ensure they are properly catalogued/insured.
