I'm looking for some thoughts on practical and realistic solutions to charge or top up an electric car when my garage is not attached to my house (and there are other properties in the way).

As the picture shows the cable would need to trail across a shared access way which is used for bins, slightly quicker access to garages from the garden and sometimes the local kids include this alleyway in their race track or Nerf War territory.

Now, my neighbours are all pretty chilled and have said they are happy enough with a cable trailing along the ground. And I'm sure it would not be too difficult to make up a Type 2 charger with a 40m 2.5mm_2 of arctic flex going to a fused point

Here's the context:

I've got my Titan starter pack and I've got my Argo Cargo. If I was going to put real money in to these to make a fleet which can make money and access the appropriate game loops after a wipe/character reset, what would it be?

My thoughts:

  1. Nomad and Roc (or Cutlass Black and Roc). That would get out there and get mining without any rep to worry about.

  2. 325a and a Prospector. You would have your daily driver sorted with the potential of light combat or defensive avoidance while rebuilding rep. And the Prospector would get out there and mine, with the minor inconvenience of having to buy a new mining head.

I'm open to ideas. I'm really just looking for a convenien

I'm looking to upgrade my RAM to 32gb and am happy to replace the current 16gb rather than try and add to it (I was advised against buying additional sticks).

The two options I am looking at are the same price (but one has RGB)

A: Corsair Vengeance RGB RS 32GB (4x8GB) DDR4 3600MHz C18

Or

B: Corsair CMK32GX4M2Z3600C18 VENGEANCE LPX 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4 DRAM 3600MHz C18

Now, I'm a sucker for RGB but the manual for my Asrock B450 proF has a table showing lower clock speed limits for when 4 sticks of ram are used.

Am I going to lose real world performance by feeding my RGB addiction? And if so, by how much?

I have an old m-ITX Fractal Design Node 304 case with a 450w PSU and a Radeon RX570 going spare. I'm curious if any of the refurbished Dells out there would complete the package into a functional rig?

Thanks

John

I'm an occasional DCS player, by that I mean it is permanently installed and I mess around in the SU25 every so often. Yet I subscribe to growling sidewinder and regularly watch his content. Recently, I've see him play with his friend in a WWII theatre and they were describing the gameplay as "randomly generated". I really liked what I saw and wondered if any of you guys could help me on which modules I would need to buy to play this type of gameplay? Thanks in advance.

I'm currently running this board with 2x8gb of Corsair CMK16GX4M2B3000C15 which I don't believe is on the QVL? It's holding steady at 3000MHz, but I wonder if I will lose that overclock if I bought the same memory kit again and filled the remaining two slots to get 32gb?

Any thoughts and possible explanation as I'm a bit confused by the SR/DR table in the manual?

So following a DNA test which proved distant relation to royalty, my commander has overlooked the issue of slavery been charmed by Gutamya. He is currently undergoing a bit of an imperial upgrade, much like Pip from Great Expectations.

My first build is to replace the trusty "bread van" DBX with an iCourier as my main bubble taxi. Whilst building this I finally began to understand what is meant by the term "shield tank". The DBX had a 3D shield giving it 83mjs, just enough for a scrape. To keep the "hot hatch" Courier light I originally fitted a 1C bi-weave for the same job and it gave me 126mjs, that's good value! Since then I've engineered a 1A shield for low draw and stripped down and it

I've recently switched from an old Saitek Pacific AV8 to a TM Warthog, quite an upgrade. However, I don't have rudder pedals and they are at scalping prices at the moment. In the meantime I have purposed the L middle finger thing as a rudder axis and the L thumb 4-way+push as "rudder buttons" to see how it feels. It doesn't feel intuitive at the moment and I actually miss the twist function of the old stick. But I accept I may get used to it.

I'm curious has anyone tried using usb pedals, like for a piano, as a make-do rudder solution? I imagine it is much more intuitive than thumb or finger control.

Hi, I've never done any mining apart from the in-game training but I would like to dip my toe in so I can feel like I understand that part of the game. Not just collecting ore and selling it, but dealing with the dangers and risks this vocation brings. I have a Keelback and a Type 10 parked at my home in the Pathan system. I fear a cheap type 10 will just be a bullet magnet with a horrendous rebuy cost, so let's look at the Keelback.

I'm hoping my build will have enough equipment to allow me to practice mining whilst also being able to fight an NPC pirate or two and honing my skills in making a quick get away if things get dicey.

Since hitting Elite in exploration I'm trying my hand at combat. Equipped with a new Vulture (thanks for the 30% discount Core Dynamics!) and spending all my mega bucks on A-rated everything, I've found a build that seems to work. It runs two B rated PAs powered by a G1 engineered power generator. For defense I've kept power low by hull tanking and a G1 engineered 5C bi weave shield.

If I can land a shot it makes you wince with how hard it hits and it's satisfying to hear their shield go down. I also like how when my own shield goes down I have a reasonable amount of time to runaway and recover while the hull takes a beating.

The problem is, I'm just not landing
